I got my prometheus today and this thing is INSANE. First, the power output graph included with the laser indicates 387mW avg and 427.9mW peak. Well, the average seems about right but the peak is off a bit. On my meter this laser has peaked over 500mW, and it wasn't for a split second. It held 500 for at least 5 seconds and then slowly falls. When metering for long durations, like over 3 minutes, the lowest it got was around 300mW with a few very short dips into the 200 range. But this is expected in a hand held when used for longer periods. Anyway, I'll do a better review tonight. I have a few pictures (on my new camera!!) but my batteries are dead on the camera so I only have three pics that I could take before it died. Also, these pictures were taken in my room with full sunlight coming in the window. The flash on the camera was used, and my bedroom light was turned on. The beam is still brighter than bright.

This was a long exposure shot, hence the blurryness. I dont have a tripod hehe.

Sorry about my poor metering! If you wish I can send you a less powerful unit to make up for my mistake ;)

Wow, I'm so unused to seeing your pictures without purple burn spots on the sensor. LOL

I'd just like to know the results when you focus the beam, how well it burns..

That's one hell of a beam shot with that truck! You even used the flash and it's still very bright.

Amazing portable laser. :)

Here's a shot I just took of the laser on my power meter. Read it by looking at the 1-10 scale (1 = 100mW and so on)

sweet! It's a great laser. It's a bit finicky, but thats expected of a high power green handheld. What I'm most surprised about is how long it holds power for. I left it on for around 5 minutes, put it back up to the sensor and it was still holding 300mW. Mine seems to like being warm. When I first turn it on it starts anywhere between 275 and 325mW, and then over about 30 seconds or so works its way up. But if I use body heat to warm it for a while and then turn it on, it can pop right up to 400mW. I actually like that the laser seems to like being warm, because that way I dont get dramatic power drops over long periods of operation! :D

And I thought I was bad with cable spaghetti :)

Looks like you got yourself a really nice/powerful laser, is this your first rpl type laser? I was surprised by how big/hefty the laser actually is. After reading up on it and the hercules and seeing the comparisson shots, I thought that it would be a bit smaller? But that may be just me...now I really want to see a hercules in all its massive glory in real life...
