all IR filters have different reflect/transmit characteristics and the nice thing about the one i got is that it comes with a chart measured off the specific filter showing its transmission characteristics. this is important when measuring IR vs visible accurately. one thing I find suspect about most reviews by hobbiests is not enough focus on the tools and techniques in the testing. for example, measuring IR through plastic safety goggles, using uncalibrated LPMs, etc.

Meanwhile, I have sent 6 e-mails to O-like/Susie since 02/19/11 regarding the broken off spring issue. I have the OLNGL400 400mW 532nm...similar to yours. I have received it in mid-February and after the 2nd use it became useless...because the spring broke off from the driver. Right now $389 is collecting dust on my shelf.
O-like/Susie have ignored all of my e-mails up to these days.

I hope you will have a better luck with your unit than I had! :)
