This is my first green laser, and I don't have an LPM, hence the 'mini review' title.:yh:
50mW 6 in1 green laser pointer [OLGL6-1] - $28.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

This laser came to me by an interesting way - I attempted to order the 30mW one with the little springy mirror in it for some simple spirographic stuff, but they couldn't package it to get through customs, so I replaced it with this one (5 vs 1 star cap, 50mW vs 30mW - not bad!).

Shipping time was pretty quick, from the time they sent it, it took about 4 days for the first part (got sent on a Friday, travelled through the weekend and came in on Monday). Another week difference for the second part though, I just got unlucky and it 'arrived' on Friday, but I couldn't pick it up until Monday this week.

Both parts came wrapped in enough bubble wrap to choke an elephant, no way this was going to get damaged in the mail!

I have no previous experience of lasers over 20mW, so this 50mW (not sure about the actual output) is crazily bright in comparison. Can't stare at the dot for too long, and I have no doubt in my mind that this would blind almost instantly, so it's definitely for people who understand the dangers of lasers (not a kids toy, for sure). At night the beam is clearly visible, and it's great to use to point out stars.

The star caps are pretty great, especially since this is my first greenie. There are three that are fairly similar in pattern, but the other two are quite unique, and twisting the end of it changes the patterns, and even makes the pattern look 3D!

I'd absolutely recommend this for a first time green laser, and the service I got from O-Like and Susie was amazing!

If anyone has more questions about it, I'll try my best to answer, just keep in mind I can't test the power, and that I'm not a laser genius yet

Can it pop a balloon, light a match, etc?

I've tried it with a black balloon, and:
Just the plain balloon, I tried for about a minute, nothing. Coloured the black balloon a little blacker with a sharpie, and it popped in about 20 seconds.

Then with a magnifying glass in front of the laser - I held the laser about 30cm from the balloon, wasn't even holding it steady, put the magnifying glass in between the laser and the balloon, didn't even try to focus it, and it popped in about 2 seconds. Not bad!

A minute with a black (coloured in) match + magnifying glass got nothing.
