New Module - REALLY easy to use!

That's going to depend on if Susies modules are a bit different than the ones I picked up from SHINP - Mine have a much larger threaded lens assembly than the Aixiz (see photo)...

I'm not able to give an answer accurately, though, as her modules are an M9 thread and I really don't know what this one is (although I DO know it's different than the Aixiz).

One of the "Heavy Hitters" around to please clear this up for us? Thanks in Advance!

Just for the record - I don't usually live like this - I normally have some skirt around that does a MUCH better job of keepin' the place up .....

Looks like an awesome module, although IMO the fins somewhat detract from the overall design. The fins are only useful if the module is standing alone. If you try to mount the module inside a host (without the front sticking out), then the fins won't add anything and might even take away.

I think the fins look cool....
Even if they wouldn't add to the cooling effect....

Hey All - I just wanted to add a little "follow-up" on the review. Last night, I harvested a LOC diode and for some reason, it was really difficult to get it "started" into the diode seat (seemed to be just a hair bigger, therefore making it not so much of a "drop-in") ... So I looked around for one of the PHR's that had already given their life for science, and it dropped right in. I did a really good "once over" on the LOC and it didn't appear to have any residue, burrs, etc from the extraction so i took a little emery cloth to the diode and it then fit quite well (unfortunately, the diode also must have suffered some injustice along the way, as it lit valiantly for all of about 1/2 minute and died) ...

Bottom line, if you are going to use these modules with the assumption that you will be swapping diodes, take the extra time to make sure the diode fits smoothly or it'll be in there until you destroy it trying to get it out!

Happy St Pats, everyone - I'm heading to the pub for green beer, to seriously reconsider my soldering skills (I'm pretty sure that was the diodes' downfall), and to weep for yet another fallen diode.

Anyone found a flashlight that would work as a host?

i dont like how mounting the diode is setup like the dildas... not to mention it only works well with the glass lenses. the acrylic lenses sit so deep in the module you cant focus it... well you can but its a pain in the a$$... :

Have you compared the output with this a/r glass lens with a Meredith glass, or Virtual Village a/r acrylic or LarryDFW's glass lens?

It should be EASILY adaptable to many 18650 hosts, including the one JayRob is using in his greenie kit.
A washer to replace the glass on that host (drilled with a step drill bit) that will clear the external threads of
this module would made it simple. Just assemble the the two pieces of the module with the washer in between them. Use a spring for the positive connection and the set screw for connection to the body of the host (shim might be needed opposite side from set screw for centering).

I ordered one from O-like, but would have ordered five if it wasn't $4 EACH for shipping!

I noticed that the diode holder portion of an Aixis module screws right into an O-like greenie module,
so if this lens has the same thread, the finned portion would make a pretty decent heat sink for an Aixis
module for considerably less $ than the custom ones I've seen offered here.

The standard lens in the O'Like module is the Aixiz glass lens.

It is a fairly good lens for Red OC builds, but just OK for BR.

The Hi-Power lens is about 9% more output than the Aixiiz glass lens for Reds & 27% more for BR.
