Hey Everyone!

Right off the bat I would like to say this laser is "For sale"

Now that that is out... I will tell a bit on how I acquired it.

I saw it posted on ebay a few days ago for 99$ BIN "only" and I decided to send the seller some questions. After a few pm's back and fourth I didnt really get anywhere. He didn't know the output or if it was the old evo or the new E2 models. I told him I was interested but because it was a "unknown" output I didnt want to pay. I suggested he leave it for 99$ as these are about a "FEW" months wait. He messaged me about 2 days later and asked if i was still interested and I said not for 99$! We shot prices back and fourth and we finally agreed on 70$ shipped.

Today i received this!

I then proceeded to take it and examine it. Immediately i noticed it was super lightweight. It actually feels like plastic... but its metal... just that cheap lightweight kind. The 1st thing i did was pop some batteries in. I used energizer lithiums 8x LOL! Its the only kind of disposable i like to use in lasers because there super lightweight. Anyways... I then turned the laser on and noticed it was pretty bright! I put it on my arm to see if it would burn/sting and it did! So i knew the power was pretty good.

I then cracked out the LPM and got these results! (I did test with my OD 7+ glasses and there is "no" IR leakage. I can even see the filter inside)

The power then dropped with use... after about 2 minutes of constent use I got this. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk98/jeffreythe00/IMG_20110414_170229.jpg

I then played with it a little with on and off cycles and I metered it again at 36 mw. It was pretty warm from my hand and as it got warm the power dropped. It settles at about 40 mw and stays there unless you use it for about 60 seconds and then it drops more.

I must mention the beam on this laser is super thin! I would estimate it to be about 1.5mm at the aperture but thats not "conformed".

Overall its not a TERRIBLE laser but it is NOT
worth a 5 month wait. You can get better lasers from o-like and rayfoss and even make your own! I would not wait for one of these.

Below are some photos people may be interested in but not really needed.

Heres a photo of the protective cap off.

Heres a photo of the coating on the inside of the protective cap. The coating reflects <1 mw of power because it does not register on my LPM

haha ya, anyway 56mw is not bad, its supposed to be the 50mw one right?

It was sold to me "as is" with no guarantees. The seller said it was "new and unused" and he was selling it for a Guy who gives him random stuff to sell. So I do not know.

Edit: Could be a 75mW for all I know.
