I been wanting a green laser for a long time, about 2 years to be exact. I never bought one because I never had the money for a good quality 200+mw like I wanted. Well the other day my wife is looking at Amazon and she sees that they have cheap green lasers listed and tells me about them. Now at first I'm super skeptical and I'm thinking that this is just junk like the cheap lasers they sell on ebay, but the more I thought about it I figured it was a small amount of money and what the heck.

I figured I'd get a cheap laser like the small red cheap ones I had bought over the years at flea markets. I figured for 22 bucks even if it sucked it would satisfy my green laser curiosity for a while and I could use it to tease my cat.

Well I placed the order and about 4 hours later I got an email saying my item had been shipped. I was somewhat surprised and figured that the seller was just telling Amazon that they had shipped it but it probably hadn't yet as I'm used to Amazon retailers taking their time.
well exactly 2 days after I placed the order it arrived at my house and I was shocked to be honest. It was delivered by the post office and was shipped from a U.S. address, but when i ordered it I figured it would come from China or something.

The company that sent it is called Bynovel and it came wrapped in bubble wrap inside a padded envelope. It was inside a white felt box and it came with instructions and 2 generic batteries. I just threw the 2 batteries away and put in some panasonic Alkalines I bought from the dollar store. I was in my living room and shined it across the room onto the wall about 8 feet away and BOOM this thing was super bright and I had to immediately turn it off.
You see my living room wall is white and wow you don't want to shine this thing at a white wall that is too close. I then shined it down my dark hallway all the way to the far wall inside my master bedroom and me and my wife were just blown away. Even though it wasn't totally dark you could see the beam easily and man was it ever bright.

We waited until it got dark and took it outside and again our jaw dropped as this thing was putting a bright green dot on the side of a water treatment plant about a mile from my home. We stood on the road with the plant at the dead end and I jog this every morning and know it is only one tenth short of a full mile away. You could see the beam lit up as well and when we aimed it at the sky it seemed the beam went on forever.

I don't have any matches or balloons but I held it to my hand and after about 5 seconds I could feel my skin burning and jerked my hand away. Now i know this thing ain't pumping out 100mw like it says but this certainlu is a big step ahead of the cheapie 5mw ebay and flea market lasers. I wish i had some means of really testing th output but if I had to guess I'd say at least 50 solid mw and possibly around 70 but I can't know for sure.

They have a 200mw for 40 bucks and I'm going to order one of those next time I get paid and again i know it won't be a true 200 but if it's as good as this one I might get 100-150 out of it.

Here is the link to the 22 dollar laser:
Amazon.com: 100mW 532nm High Power Fixed Focus Green Laser Pointer Pen: Electronics

They also had a 50mw green for 13 bucks with free shipping the other day but I was greedy and opted for the 100mw and paid 4 bucks shipping.

I think it's funny how you threw away the batteries it came with because they "weren't good enough for you" so you replaced them with a set from the dollar store!

That's good comedy :)

Next time get a focusing laser, they are much more fun and versatile.

Actually,. for someone starting out, I don't think this is that bad. We get a lot of folks through here looking for starter stuff.

Welcome to DPSS. :)
