Hello

I want to show this little 532nm green DPSS module. I bought it from Fasttech for $9.87. That includes the 5% coupon. Use "BLF" for a 5% discount on light and battery products. Here is a link, $10.39 50mW 532nm Green Laser Module - 3V, 11.9mm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Today I got the module and put it on test. Out of the box it does 82mW at 380mA/3V input
After some testing I decided go to the 100mW mark.
The result is 107mW at 414mA/3V input. The brass module was held in a large aluminium heatsink. The pot is very sensitive. Only a very light touch is enough to bump tens of mA.
This module can be easily build in a 12mm heatsink. The module has no IR filter. I took also a measurement with an external IR filter.

The dot is clean and nice round. It is right collimated at the infinity.
For $10 it is quite a bargain.

Note: I bought this module with my own money. No Fasttech people was involved. :D

Great deal you got there :)

Did you tested it with IR filter?

I have unscrewed the brass module and there is no filter inside.
The OP is updated with an IR filtered LPM graph.

Great review Blord, Imagine buying $50 of these with the bulk discount + the 5% discount code :D Plenty of 100mW lasers to around! Assuming they all are able to hit 100mW of course. :D

I just did a quick build of a green laser. The green module was used in the also green 501B host. See the video in the op.

What a nice deal and great review as always Blord.

Just a question, what bit size did you use to drill the heatsink?

They are 12.0mm. The green brass module and the diode modules we use for our build have the same diameter.

12mm doesn't seem to be a common drill bit size. Would it be okay to use 31/64 which is just a tad larger (.06 of an inch)?

Probably not as any extra space between the module and heat sink drastically decrease the efficiency of the heat sink.

Just ordered myself one of these....might be a bit long for my C6 host, but I could get Mrcrouse to make me something threaded to put over the front bit...

These don't focus, right? I figure this will be a good star pointing laser.

They fit in a c6 and s4 with no problem check my sig or avatar. Just not with an 18650. But you might want some sort of cap to tread on the end of the module that does stick out.

Couple questions for you then....where did you get that very long spring? Also, what is the best way to short the switch on the driver?

Well I got the spring in a package of springs I got from harbor freight tools. They where ones i wasn't using the package they come with a bunch of springs perfect for external lens springs. And for shorting the button just a little piece of silicon wire on the side with the pot just connect the top and bottom solder points on the switch. If I'm not mistake if you use the leads that are pre soldered it bypasses the switch.

I use a piece of metal to bridge these yellow points. The leads were removed and a spring was added to the contact point of the black lead.
