High wattage lasers are AWESOME to see... once or twice in a special setting. Committing yourself to owning and operating one is another story entirely. I didn't truly appreciate this until I got my 15W CO2 laser, and that's the safest multiwatt laser you can own as the blindness risk is extremely reduced compared to shorter wavelengths!

I'd love to see a 40W astronomy 589nm laser in person and spend a few hours with it, but I don't think I'd want to own more than 500mW of one even though it is my favorite laser color (576-597nm).

More related to the topic; I don't think I'd have sold my Rigel-6 if it was a tail clicky. I absolutely hate side momentary push buttons.
