You could come right here to the shop to pick it up... and save the
Shipping/Handling costs... ::)

That way the Standard LaserBee I would only cost you.. 142.55 GBP...

Getting close to your budget of 100.00 GBP....

Close but still expensive for something I won't use very often. I only have 3 lasers and one un finished DIY build.

I can't think of any other uses for it other than lasers either.[/quote]

From your Sig... i can see that you have a 50mW and a 75mW 532nm laser...
To test Green to IR lasers this may be more economical for you...

That LPM Module only comes to 35.29 GBP... ;)

Actually that looks perfect, I don't know how accurate the conversion chart is for the 630nm+ but it still looks good.

Bookmarked.

Edit: Only goes up to 120mW though ¬_¬

We noticed that over 120mW the sensor heats up a little and throws off the readings
a bit more than acceptable..

FYI... you can even get it a bit less expensive on eBay...(ie #150321572421).. ;)

Hi Jerry,

speaking of which, the shipping costs make my eyes water... yes, even with the gracious LPF-member discount. Could you at least explain (here or on your company's website) how the Laserbee I / I Deluxe are shipped?

For that price range, I'm thinking 72hr FedEx Int'l, insured. To the hilt... . It's either that or the Thermopile weighs in at 8.5Kg... or it's sealed in a thick lead box to avoid contamination from Kryptonite.
(well that should get me at least a couple of " ::)" from Mr. B...  ;D

Last but not least. are you forced to openly delcare the price (for insuring)?  If so, please note all potential buyers from EU Countries will be forced to pay up to 16% duty-fees as well as 20%VAT (taxes). The duty fees can, I believe, be avoided by checking the ah, "GIFT" box...   ;)

Hey Traveller,
here is the info I just took off the Canada Post Website to ship a Deluxe
LaserBee I to England from Quebec Canada

From       To         Weight    Insurance
J0P 1Y0   GB   0.55 kg   $350.00

Xpresspost International (5 business days)<-- This has worked out to be closer to 14 days :-?
Base Price $54.88
Delivery confirmation Included
Signature option $2.50
Fuel surcharge $5.08
Coverage $4.60
Total $67.06

That price is what we pay out of pocket to Canada Post.... and does not include
packaging materials... handling time and transport to the Post Office (25Km round trip)
Our shop is in a very rural area..

Sorry... but we will not falsify customs documents under any circumstances.. :'(

There is a distributor in Germany that sells our Standard LaserBee I... they may be able
to ship to the UK a little cheaper.... here is a link...

http://laserbee.insaneware.de/

BTW... this Thread was from Jan 17 2009.... you could have just need to PM me for the
same Info rather than Bumping an old Thread.... but thanks anyway... ;)

I know first hand that shipping a LaserBee internationally, so that it has tracking and is fully insured , is a bit pricey.

Yesterday, I sent mine in to Jerry for a tune-up and the shipping cost me exactly $30.75.  I would rather pay a bit more for the security of a tracked & insured package... rather than risk the possibility of it becoming "lost" or arriving smashed to pieces.  ;)

Please don't think for a second that I thought you were making money off the shipping - such a thought would never cross my mind. I was just hoping that maybe we could drop the "express" postal service with the hope of saving a few $ but @14 days, I'd say the Canadian postal service could stand a little improvement...  ::)

Ex-cel-lent, particularly since I live in Austria! Thanks for the link, I'll have a look-see & report back  ;)

Sigh...
apparently today I'm batting a thousand in terms of communications... . I even managed to annoy Professor "Peace, Dave" Daguin earlier today (and that's a very difficult thing to do seeing as the man's always on an even keel)...  :'(

And now this; I spent a bit of time purposely searching for threads on the subject of LaserBees so as not to start a new thread. This is the standard process in pretty much all other forums (where they flame you for starting a new thread on an old subject).

How could I possibly know that you would be against me "bumping" a positive review on one of your products...

I'm going to  :-X it for tonight, before I annoy any more VIPs (two's my limit on any given day  :p)...
