Hello everyone ! This is just a sort of mini-review of a 30mW 532nm

(GREEN) pointer that was sent to me by the "LASER PEN SHOP".

The laser came in a nice, classy, brushed Aluminum case, richly lined in

foam, with cut-outs for the laser & the included 2 AAA batteries needed

for the lasers operation.

As for the laser itself, it is a standard length pointer, with a high-gloss,

black finish, with gold appointments at the aperture, battery cap, break

section dividing the power head from the battery compartment, & also

includes a nicely finished gold pocket clip.

The beam has great divergence, & produces a nice, tight, TEM 00 "spot"

without any side lobes or any other types of interference usually

characterized by "pointer style" lasers. Although the laser was rated at

just 30mW's, this particular laser topped out at just over 48mW's on my

LASERBEE DELUXE MODEL LASER POWER METER (manufactured by J.

BAUER ELECTRONICS, CANADA).

This is a fine, well constructed & inexpensive laser for beginning &

experienced laserists alike & is VERY EASY to operate, utilizing a single,

push ON/OFF button.

I have a photo of this laser in it's arrival case & a few PIX of the laser in

operation, which I will post here just as soon as I can figure out how to

upload them, since I've never done this before :yabbem: !!! So be on watch for

them in the next couple of days. This laser, & a variety of others come in

a wide range of styles, mW out-puts & nm's. You can check them out at

"info@laserpenshop" !!!

So, if you are just beginning in this hobby or are an experienced laserist

who needs to purchase some inexpensive lasers for your own use or as

gifts for others, check out the "LASER PEN SHOP", you just might find

what you need to buy without breaking your bank.

PS, Please watch this post for coming photo's !!! :thanks: phoenix77 AKA

Very nicely worded review Rob

Can't wait to see the pics:)

Uploading through the forum is a bit of a pain in the butt:p

Much easier to upload to something like photobucket, and post the picture here, using insert feature, or the code for it:

By your description of the laser, I'd say it's a clone of CNI's pens, like DragonLaser's Viper series?

And overspec by 50% ... not bad.

Though if I may, could you please do without the word wrapping and line spacing? Just type out the paragraphs as you see fit, it'll get displayed properly on every screen resolution, forum software takes care of that. You don't have to worry about it :D

Nice review of an entry level 532nm Laser for
new Members getting into the hobby...:gj:
BTW... I found it easier to read your detailed
review without needing to scan from the complete
left of my screen to the complete right of my
screen...;)
It makes reading newspaper articles easier as well..

@Jerry, if you do not warp your text, the forum does it for you automatically adjusted for your screen resolution, you do not need to scroll left-right. I never wrap my text, and I bet you never get the left-right slider bar in the window of your browser, correct?

Unless ofcourse, there is an image larger than screen resolution, then the display software is forced to put the slider bar because it will not auto-resize the image to fit your screen resolution.

Even IF you wrap your text (feel free to), I don't think there's a reason for one full line of line-spacing. It kind of makes the text difficult to read, especially without paragraph breaks.

Jerry seems you are the only one with that problem. You have a resolution setting miss set. Your setting is probably bigger than your screen. Which mean your desktop is wider than your screens dimensions. Or you might be using a 16:9 setting on a 4:3 monitor. You need to get the resolution to fit your monitor, then you can adjust your text size through your Windows settings, then change the text size in your browser settings.

If you need step by step help drop me a PM.

Well, the LAST time I did a review, I received a lot of comments about people having difficulty reading the review because I only single spaced it. (the review was pretty lengthy). So this time I double spaced it to make for easier reading, but I guess that double spacing isn't good either. Now I'm in a quandary about the way I SHOULD type a review out ?!?!?

How about just reading the text, absorbing what you choose to from it, & not worry about the WAY it was typed. Every time I peruse the forum, I see so many misspelled words & a wide variety of other mistakes in simple grammar, structure, spelling, punctuation etc. But I figure that at least the author took the time to share his information with the forum, & I appreciate this, so I can cut him some slack in the WAY the information was delivered & just read what was written without grading the posting. I mean this IS a LASER FORUM, not an ENGLISH GRAMMAR CLASS right ? Just read what I posted here. I'm SURE that there are several mistakes in my punctuation, sentence structure, etc. I don't think that anyone is gonna NEG REP me for it, (IDK, maybe someone will, lol) ! What I'm trying to get at here is that we ALL make grammatical mistakes ('cept maybe Dave, lol), but he's a professor & has a leg up on the rest of us.

But if someone would care to re-write my postings, I'd have NO PROBLEM with them doing it, but mark my words, SOMEBODY ELSE WILL !!!

Please don't take this as me just being a smart-a** about this whole thing, OK ? It's just my opinion mixed up with a bit of sarcasm to try & make it a bit comical. I HOPE I succeeded without anyone taking this TOO seriously. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry ! This was NOT my intention.............

@ Infinitus Equitas, Thanks for the kind words. REP PTS. on the way if I'm allowed to lol ! SORRY, just tried & the system said NYET !!!!
@ Eudaimonium, Thanks to you also pal, for what you had to say, & you're correct in your assumption about the laser being a DL Viper clone. Please don't take what I posted here seriously. I was just havin' a bit o' fun, OKAY ? BTW, tried to REP ya but got a NYET for you also, SORRY !!!
@ lasersbee, Thanks Jer for your nice comments. I thought it was typed out alright too, but "YA CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE, SO YA GOT TO PLEASE YOURSELF" words by Ricky Nelson from the song "GARDEN PARTY" Sorry pal but, NYET on YOUR REP PTS too !
@ T J I don't think Jerry was the ONLY one with that 'problem?' me thinks he's just the only one that said something about it so far. NYET on your REP PTS also. Sorry pal, freakin' system !!!!!!!!

@ ORF8582 Hi & thanks for reading my 'Mini-Review' If you would like to access the site, which is a website / catalog for lasers & laser accessories, just GOOGLE http://www.laserpenshop.com or to contact them directly, send an Email to info@laserpenshop. Direct your message to "TONY", & if you mention my name & promise to do a review, TONY will send you a FREE LASER POINTER, but you HAVE to mention that "I" told you about this offer & you "MUST" do a review. This applies to EVERYONE on LPF, so if you PROMISE to do a REVIEW, just send TONY an Email at info@laserpenshop tell TONY that I told you about this FREE OFFER, make SURE to do the REVIEW & get a FREE LASER POINTER. Please help me to spread the word, OK ? It's a simple way to get a FREE LASER (nothing wrong with that eh ?) & it will help the Laser Pen Shop at the same time. They told me that sales on LPF were lagging, so TONY came up with this idea to help his company be more widely known about. I was also told that if I was able to get around 100 LPF members to take advantage of this GREAT DEAL. TONY might be able to Bless me with a more expensive laser to review & then keep for myself. I just want to be up-front about this so there won't be any comments about me trying to do something shady or underhanded & I think that this is a FAR BETTER arrangement than all the hoops that WL wanted me to jump through to obtain a more expensive laser to review & then keep for my own uses. This sounds like a win/win situation for anyone who partakes of this offer. I didn't see anything in the Forums R's & R's about doing something like this so I just included it as part of my REVIEW thread. IF anyone knows of ANY Forum rule or regulation that I may have missed, PLEASE let me know so that I can delete this portion of the thread or re-word it so that it conforms to the Forums R's & R's, OKAY ????? THANKS !!!!

PS, I PROMISE to have the photos posted in this thread between now & Sunday. Sorry for the delay !!!! My back has been acting up on me AGAIN :( rob / phoenix77

So they get 100 reviews on this forum for about $100 in lasers.

Best marketing scam yet.

I'll pass, thanks.

How is it a scam? They're not ripping you off or anything.

You get free laser, they get business. It's a win-win situation from where I see it.

I mailed to give it a try! but anyway if 100 people do this the forum is ridiculously spammed with reviews for this shop :p

We will see :shhh:

greetings,,

EDIT: Hope they also ship it for free :p i don't plan on paying 30$ shipping for a 20$ laser and still have to do a review about it :p

Sounds great to me. I sent an email and really look forward to seeing what they send out.

As long as all the reviews end up here, in the review section, I really don't see a problem...

You dont see a problem because your getting a crummy 30mW laser for free.

Try to think outside the box for a minute.

It costs thousands to advertise here at banner level. Instead of paying thousands, they pay a ~$100 in cheap lasers to actual members to post reviews on their cherry picked lasers. 100 reviews plastered on the forum is a far better than a 4K banner add. Its marketing genius. They cut C0lds throat, and use us to spam their cheap pointers. All we get is a throw awat cheap pen laser. At least with Hak's scam you get some better lasers, and other free stuff.

I guess its up to you if you want to spend time doing a review, taking money away from the forum, and helping a cheap Chinese laser retailer. All for a $4 green pen. I wont be part of it, but by all mean dont stop on account of me.

I wonder how this will turn out... How trustworthy can they be if they sell a 500mW 532nm laser for only $101.46. Then they turn around and offer 500mW pens for $572.
