Default Knockoff Saber 1.6W small review.

Okay so I first wanna start by saying that I purchased this from Laserpointerstore.com because it was $99.99 and I couldn’t pass it up.
this is just a replica of the saber so if you want the real deal youll have to go to https://www.sanwulasers.org/product/striker
I will be ordering a real authentic saber first chance I get.

This Saber is incredibly heavy! Literally twice as heavy as my Equality from JL, maybe 2 and half times as heavy, and that is with no batteries. I know that Stainless Steel is much heavier than (AL) and (Ti). I have no complaints on the weight, I always feel like the heavier is it the better quality it is
I do wanna say that I’m so glad that they put reverse polarity Protection on this laser because LPS says that it’s case Negative but when I installed the batteries in positive first, the laser wouldn’t power on, I thought it was DOA! So I tried over and over and couldn’t get it to turn on. Unfortunately the Sanwu site cuts off the screen on my phone so I couldn’t see the Polarity. I decided to turn the batteries around thinking it was Case Positive and to my amazement it powered right on. I was so excited! Are the Sanwu Strikers supposed to be Case Neg? Anyways I’m just glad it works great! I had it on for over a minute and I didn’t really feel a temp change. I know the Duty cycle is unlimited but I still wanna be on the safe side.

The quality is certainly better than I expected, I love the feel of this Saber, it certainly feels like it’s gonna last like my JL Equality. I was able to get some readings on my Meter for the low and high output.
LOW was ((1098mw)) or maybe that’s medium. It only has two modes plus Strobe
HIGH was ((1649mw)) definitely as advertised

Order date 3-22-18
Arrived date 4-10-18

I’m kind of in a hurry so I apologize for not being as detailed as I should be, I’ll add more later, thanks for looking everyone

Very nice, Richie, you can't go wrong for $99, heck you could probably ask nearly that much for the host alone, judging by the photos, the quality looks fantastic !

I think you’re right. I’m still surprised it was only 100 bucks

Thanks for the review, Sanwus are great.

I wonder when they’re going to implement that rotating dimming switch.

Nice price and laser, and looking at there link he's alot cheaper lately??
He's even adding a few new products like an extended gattling type.
Is it a Sanwu knock off?? Hey as long as it lasts and you seem to be happy

That battery spring is not made right, it should be rolled so it makes maximum surface contact, but the host looks really nice, also the BE looks like a direct thread in. But that battery spring is just wrong. YES I see it's a bootleg copy.

You're right, Red, I didn't notice that before, that spring should be rolled in, or at least, ground flat for max. battery contact.

Check to see if a magnet sticks to the host. If so, it is steel. They look and feel good in the hand, but are very poor conductors of heat and you will not feel the heat sink inside getting hot by feeling the outside of the host. For this amount of optical power, it isn't necessary to have the spring to be rolled or ground down to allow for more current to flow. It is, after all, just under 2 watts. If you are happy, that is all that matters.

Exactly as well as important to know.
Tommy/LPS does the same with selling a fake/copy of JetLasers PL-E Pro as well.

Wrong is wrong, and this is wrong. The small contact area can get hot and makes a poor connection more prone to become intermittent with vibration, movement, also I would order with the 3W diode.

I have a spring about that size in my 3 watt MS-SSW-II with a NDB7875 in it. This thing is pulling maybe 1.7 amps at most and shouldn't get hot with that amount of current. But, don't take my word for it. As soon as you are done running it for a couple of minutes, take it apart quickly and tell us how hot the spring is.
