just ordered one as well and also a new 445nm 1W + hot option pointer. Ships today I think (thursday)!
Will post my pics. The diode is an LG 10X diode I believe, so class IV output!

Yummy!

I like my 400mW 405nm better than the 445nm 1W laser. I am not that ipressed with the diode characteristics of the 445. It's bright, has great power at less than 5 meters, but the line beam just doesn't do it for me. My 170mW greenie beam reaches out so much further then the 445.

I just ignited a red tipped match with my 405 from 35 feet away in under 10 seconds.(At 15 feet or less, the match ignites instantly!) It's a great little power house, with a nice tight focused dot.

hmm, Yes, and I do agree about the 445nm spread and thats what you get for a multimode diode, however I have set things on fire nicely at over 50ft away.

I still like 445nm, but a nice single dot of Class4 power can't be beat!

I am going to assume the focus ability of your unit, outweighs mine by a bit. No way mine is going to ignite anything @ a true 50'. I will try to take a snapshot of my beam focused the best it can @ 35 feet today.
