Re: Arctic: Spyder III: Review

What if the ones that are in the Arctics now as we see in the picture above are the ones from the mix up batch problem that AxiZ has been having. Or is this not possible?

Re: Arctic: Spyder III: Review

That lens there is not the newest one aixiz has been sending out. They are using a spanner wrench lens retaining nut, the pic you posted there is the old standard screwdriver lens retaining nut.

I seriously doubt (hope) CNI would not have anything at all to do with hodgepodge crap like the arctic. There is no excuse at all for a professional company to send out a product thrown together like that. Sure some people think it looks good on the outside, but its all crap on the inside.

I can't wait to see the driver, I bet they got that part from Dealextreme

Mine are in fact the new ones. I JUST got these from Jayrob. Unless they sent him old ones (which I thought they sold out) lol

Huh,

All I know is the lack of a steady source of the same lenses drives me mad... How are you supposed to be able to plan something when the lenses will just change next week.

Fuuuuu.......

Re: Arctic Spyder S3 (WL) + Exp. Lens Kit Review *LOTS OF PICS*

Can anyone explain to me how a claimed 1 W blue laser costs only 300 bucks? It just doesn't click in my mind...

Breakthroughs in technology are often made that make certain things cheaper and more efficient/effective/awesome. Same thing occurs in the lasers world.

A new diode is developed that is easy to manufacture and outputs a lot of power ----> 1W blue laser for $300.

Hi, the reason for the majority of price on any laser is usually due to the diode or module it uses to lase, recently the 445nm diode was incorporated into a casio projector and bought in massive bulk from nichia and/or sanyo, therefore driving the price of each diode down, making the projector affordable for consumers and making the 24 diodes inside cheaper for us. :)

Re: Arctic S3 (WL) + Exp. Lens Kit Preliminary Review

1.0964907886359114 mRad. NICE!

If this is true then I guess unlike some peoples, WL did fit the 1.5mrad specs.

About how long did shipping take? My order couldn't be added to my account (made it after I ordered) and I dont get emails from WL, just a few oddly. They told me mine shipped out, but I have no way to know my tracking number (asked them for it). So about how many days? :)

Yeah I'm hoping that's right.

And the dates are at the top of the review!

Re: Arctic Spyder S3 (WL) + Exp. Lens Kit Review *LOTS OF PICS*

yeh, but quite honestly ive been over this product for some time. i am just about to be 100% done with a quad-445, i am currently working on cooling, as the platform on which all the components are mounted is much too big for my budget to tec.

either way, i wouldnt mind having it show up before its old news, isnt that the point of buying it first?

also, congrats on receiving it, i keep hearing there is thermal grease freakin everywhere.... im hoping there is decent contact between the housing module and the host, and thermal grease in excess will do near nothing.

Yeah, mine is just over 47xxx and I just got the same email yesterday. It only took 4 emails requesting the G1, but whatever.
