Here is a deal I just couldn't pass up. It's 2 of my favorite things in one.
What really clinched it for me was the all-metal construction, something rare in cheap pen
hosts these days. Most of the cat toys now use chrome plated plastic for the body.
It is so tiny! Power source is 3 standard LR41 cells
The dot pattern is very tight. Divergence is surprisingly good for such a small direct diode
module coming in at 1.312mrad. My little gold one beats it at 0.28, but it also starts out
at nearly twice the size. There is some spherical aberration, but that is to be expected
from what is probably a single spherical lens collimator.
There is one small faint artifact (circled in the picture). I cannot tell weather this is a piece
of foreign material on the lens or just a characteristic of the wafer they used. The front
seems to be a press fit making removal without damage almost impossible.
