FocalPrice 532nm 200mW Green Keychain Laser

I received mine today, and I think I got a crap unit.
It only peaks at about 80mW, and it is badly out of focus.
The focus is so bad that from only 10 feet away the dot is larger than a quarter.
I am sending mine back for a replacement.

Not sure you got a bad unit. Everyone agrees divergence on these are pretty bad. I think mine is the same as yours. Not sure about the power on mine since I don't have an LPM.

Well. I'm still not happy with 80mW. It only barely lights a match at 6 inches.
I guess if FP didn't exchange it for me, I could fix the focus myself, but it also mode-hops after only a few seconds. I don't think it's worth it for me to keep it. Hopefully they will replace it for me. :undecided:

Mine doesn't mode hop at all. You should get it replaced.

I tried focusing mine but the divergence does not seem to get any better than where the lens was originally. I guess this laser is made for burning and not for pointing far away.

have yet to receive mine. shipped 7.21.10? should i wait a bit more before i write them?
how long does it take? got my other stuff already from china and hk.

Got my unit today and thought I would give my two cents.

Ordered 7/27/2010 Shipped 7/28/2010 Received today 8/5/2010.

For $30 I am very happy with this purchase.

The unit is not annoying being on my keyring. It also has a quick connect thingy(I believe that is the scientific term for it)



I like that it came with a 10440 but i just put it aside and used my AW 10440(quality battery).




Did a couple of beam shots with out any smoke.

Cons
Heats up after 20 seconds. would suggest using in short intervals.
beam divergence is not that great

Thanks. I like the dark room with smoke shots. Always include them when posting beam shots. My favorite is when you take a shot looking down the beam at the laser like in my sig. Makes them look like some kind of plasma torch or something.:eg:

finally got mines today. had to sign for it. batteries were already charged. 3 weeks later. beams not bad. now to find my charger.

id like to put this unit on my keys but ill be scared of sitting down and poping the switch on by mistake and running down my battery or burning myself as it dose sting the skin.
