I recently bought a used (essentially brand new, no marks or scuffs on laser or the case it came in, all parts included) HL300 532nm Laser from SerpantSlayer. The entire process was quick and painless, laser arrived two days after payment was sent, and the whole time my seller kept in contact and alleviated any concerns I had. The product arrived and is exactly as described, zero problems and as I said, brand new. All the stickers which I normally remove immediately were still attached.

I'm not going to bother posting any pictures of the laser as 90% of LPF members know exactly what this laser looks like and any more beam shots would be redundant I feel like. However it is SUPER bright, no doubt overspec as it rivals my 2w 445nm and outshines my 1.6w LuckLaser (pos anyways) by far.

Overall im extremely happy and would do business with this seller again in a heartbeat. What an awesome feeling to have my first buy be such a success, puts a good feeling in my heart to know this community has integrity and above all it increases the familial sense I get every time I log on and read or post on LPF. I absolutely love these forums, and my new laser. :yh:

SerpantSlayer is a stand up guy and was very patient with me while I established my paypal account and provided pics/vids when I asked. I just cannot say enough good things about this guy. If I could +100 rep him I would. This is just my first purchase and I feel that I'm just beginning to become a part of the community we have here at LPF. SerpantSlayer had a large part in that and I thank him for it.

If pictures are necessary I can always come back and give you guys some beam shots but like I said, its your standard overspec HL300.

Once again, and lastly, thank you SerpantSlayer and thank you to all the LPF members who have given me advice and been patient with my naivety. After this I am considering purchasing the entire rest of my planned collection through LPF members so long as they're reputable.. :yh:

Cheers and thanks LPF members:beer: I'm an extremely happy owner of my first true 532nm Laser! The BS pen I had before was just a huge disappointment.

I've had it for six hours and burnt up a battery and a half I cant turn it off. Only complaint is the aperture closer snd focusing element of the host are hard to use without accidentally moving one or the other unintentionally. Thisbis just a flaw in host design. But this review isn't bout the laser its about my awesome positive experience dealing with serpantslayer more then anything else and my love for lpf in general. I hope I got that point across clearly lol.

The laser is my favorite so far. But looking at my signature you can see im a newb with a pretty lame collection for the moment

ohh so thats where that laser ended up! i was interested but the laws changed here so you cant import a full laser anymore, and i imagined it would be a lil hassle to pull that to pieces and send, but i was wondering why it wasnt selling even at $180 then it was going cheaper and cheaper, then down to $150 and it still didnt go straight away, but yea i see your the lucky owner now, you cracked it! good deal alright

This laser would probably be non functional if it was taken apart dpss lasers can already be unstable as is.. the laser is built well but doesnt look like it'd come apart easy. Im proud to own it! I wont disclose prices paid thats not mine to disclose the way I see it but I got a great deal skipping the month wait and possible seizure by customs.

Thanks :yh:

Sky laser units are glued together, one or two members have tried to dismantle them with little success. Enjoy it, i luv my 100mW hl, it was my first laser (even before the new wish pens) and so for that it will always hold a place in my heart lol

Congratulations :D those are great lasers. I have one that's ridiculously overspec. I've hit 500mw during start up regularly.

But don't get too comfortable when buying here. Always do your homework on the seller. I recently got taken for $200 deposit to start a build, all because I became too comfortable buying and selling here. Members like serpent slayer, and more of the lpf family are great to do business with, but you never know who's on the other end of the keyboard.

Greetings,

As Tony mentioned you do need to be, observant when making purchases and find out a little about the seller. Everybody here does their best helping to keep the forum clear of deadbeats but always do a little research yourself. I have bought and sold many items through the forum, and made many new friends. Just be, observant..

cheers,
Moe

Oh I know trust me I wouldn't send money to a member without rep or thats brand new but the risk is always present best you can do is minimize it. My great experience with my first buy hasnt made me forget the inherent dangers but I do appreciate thr words of wisdom there can never be too much good advice :yh:

Seen too many people get burned but on the plus side the good WAY outweigh the bad. The only time I think I got hit was when someone said they were going to send me one of those pulsing sky pens in a red (don't remember what nm) and never did. Certainly wasn't a big deal as he volunteered it for free. Sets me off though when anyone gets "burned".
My HL532 is WAY overspec as well. In fact, every one of my Sky units are. If you ever get one of their pens the outputs increase dramatically with voltage (instead of running 2 AAA use 2 AAA lithiums or try a single 10440 with spacer). Take a look at the outputs in my sig. LOVE a nice looking pen more than any other type of unit although I really wish the Sky units were focusable.
Of course diode life is a risk you have to take with the increase in juice;)
One of the least expensive ways to get a pre-built nasty little focusable pen that looks and feels nice is the O-Like 100mW 650nm red laser pen/ focusable /Pop balloons [OL-650-100P] - $11.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Own 2 of them with an average of 138mw with 2 AAA and 220mw with a single 10440 with spacer.

I see you haven't finished my free set of copper pens yet T:) :na:

Too bad the hl532 does not have an adaptor to let it take two 16340 or an 181650 ! That would be awesome!

Yeah I agree I totally wish the hl host old hold two 16340 or better yet a 18650 that'd make it my perfect medium power laser host. As is I eat up batteries like candy I can only imagine how suxky the run time will be on my hl405 500mw will be. Oh well. Im tempted to order from lucklaser again as they offer the host I love so much it focuses better and holds the 18650 but I dont know what kind of lens is in it

The HL 405 does use 2x 16340 according to their website.

Laserbtb will also supply, on request ( and mostly during GBs) extended battery barrels that you screw onto the laser, giving a big capacity boost. A laser that took 2x 16340 can be modified to take 2x 18650, useful for the really high drain ones like 445s and some of the IR ones.
