Yeah, I need to stop at a place where they have more than the few 0nics they had at the place I went last time. I haven't tried to look it up yet but there must be a way to make lots of smoke with some kind of mix.
I've been in bed for a few hours now trying to recover from all the shoveling so I haven't posted anymore stuff. I really feel burned out right now and haven't the energy to find all the answers to what works and doesnt. I'll try out the new stuff I received tomorrow and report on what works and what doesnt. I still have one more Vamo V7 mod that has the controller in it to try but it's coming from Bang good and hasn't hit the states yet. Have found that everyplace I've ordered from in China is slower than Fasttech and just take too long to get here. Oh well, it is what it is.
I received a pen type mod that charges up to basically 3.7V. It would likely look pretty weird with an adapter on it but I'll take a pic and post along with the other stuff.
I have a few pens that I had ordered myself to mess with but they won't arrive until the end of the week. Interesting how one of the units someone sent me looks exactly like the one I ordered that should arrive at weeks end. None of the ones I had before today's stuff arrived had the same threads so I couldn't do something like 2 18650 together. Will check that out on the new stuff I received tomorrow and report. I know that you can buy some extention pieces for the Vamo units as I did but they haven't arrived yet.
Anyways, I'm sure hoping some others will report on the electronic controlled units they have as I believe theres not going to be many mechanical mods that don't work unless they come broken.
I will comment on the units that you can set to charge. I didn't mess with it again yet but as far as I could tell there wasn't a quick way to switch it off but I could be wrong. Will need to look at that again.

^:D: Sir LZB is in the house what what what:)

Well funny thing is the flavor I got was conto candy and it must have gotten in the wrong pile because I didn't notice at the time that it is actually the weakest nicotine % you can get. Oh well, the other choices they had for 0 nicotine were pretty yuck. Guess I need to find a place that sells more choices of the 0 nic stuff.

Like those dogs running Wheedy. Have no idea how to do something like that but I know it's you if I see it. Have never changed my Avatar and no one else has anything like it so people know when they see it not to bother reading lol

EDIT: This is what I've found so far on the units I've received.
The Vamo Carbon Fiber unit is a VV/VW device and did a quick check with the M462 and it works fine. When I change the Volts or Watts too low the M462nm strobes extremely fast and is actually pretty cool although I don't know if this will damage the driver or not so someone needs to weigh in on this. Have not tested it to see if I actually get less output once I'm above the strobe points. This unit does NOT have a charging function setting and I believe that is the same for all VV/VW units. Being a VV/VW unit there's a limit of 10 seconds on though.

Received the Vamo Fire which is a VW unit and it vapes fine and is a very nice looking unit and can be set from 5-30 seconds fire in manual or auto mode BUT when I put on the M462 it says "without atomizer" and I know it is connecting properly to the pins. This is actually a Vamo V6 like the one Fasttech has except it has a design carved into the wood. So, I thought the unit would be one that wouldn't work for whatever reason with a DTR adapter. What the unit DOES have is a charging function so you can buy a 510 to usb adapter and do something like charge your phone. Guess what, it works as a constant on for the M462nm so it works fine with the adapters at full power;) The readout and swithing between options seems easier and nicer to me than the V7.

Doesn't the Vamo Fire have an adjustable 510 connection? So that you can raise and lower the positive terminal. Should only require a flat head screw driver if it came equipped with one.

Hey Pman, if you want more/thicker vapor, get juices high in VG (vegetable glycerin). These also tend to be less harsh on the throat. I just started mixing my own e-juice, maybe once I get the hang of it I can send you some 0 nic.

Hadn't seen this post till now due to the edits. I know some people hate double posts but editing to add content makes a thread really hard to follow. I think it'd be better to use edits only for typo corrections and small stuff :p
(don't take this wrongly, I enjoy your posts)

The fact that it's strobing probably means the mod is PWM'ing the output instead of actually varying the voltage. That makes it far less useful for a varible power laser :(

That would be great Chaos and yes I understand Atom. It's a struggle when no one else is posting. The Vamo Fire doesn't have an issue with not connecting to the adapter. It is connecting otherwise the laser would never come on when it is switched to the charging function. I don't know why there's an issue. Lets see if the Vamo V7 VW unit does the same thing when it arrives. Even if it does I expect it to work anyways due to the charging feature it comes with;)

K, I have tons of information/comments to write but I'm only going to do some of it now.

First let me say that every single unit I've received works with the adapter. IF there's issues with the controller types I'm just passing that on for specific units that I have PERSONALLY had my paws on. Just because I've seen certain things that won't work does NOT mean that other units will have these issues and there's a zillion other ones out there.
The adapter opens up a whole new crazy world of mechanical mods with wood and etching and colors and designs that are really awesome. I mean how great is it that we can take a single complete adapter and switch it between 1, 10 ,100 or a 1000 different mods in a few seconds. Don't you ever wish sometimes that you could put your favorite color diode in a different host or you just dont like that certain host anymore? Some of these mods are only about $10 shipped even in the US and made of practically all copper.
Anything on top of just the regular mechanical mods is just gravy. Think it's pretty cool just to have the ability on the digital ones to see your voltage and if your battery is good or not. Could give you a really good idea if those IMR batteries you just purchased are real or not. Hey, I like geeky readouts;)

I've talked to Jordan some and I'm hoping there's a way to make a different adapter for something else but I will not mention it yet until he wants me too. I would also suggest that we as a forum kind of keep this new adapter hookup more internal at least for now. I don't think the Vape community is ready to just jump in with high powered lasers with out being educated first.
So, here's some pics of what I have received so far. The last 4 were sent to me by someone (and I don't have any idea who). Much thanks to whomever you are:thinking::thanks:

I will comment on individual pieces tomorrow but let me mention a few things.
Every single one of these works. I only have one complete adapter and that is the M462 and it will fire up with only 3.7V so even the lowest powered unit here worked fine. Accept for the wooden digital unit they all can take various size batteries. The catch is trying to fit (2) 18350 cells in mechanical mods that weren't meant to take them to run a dual cell diode/driver at max output. The telescoping ones work fantastic of course with this BUT you have to unscrew it way out to fit and I would guess that some telescoping mods might not have enough threads to do this.
The Units with multiple length pieces can be made to work IF you make yourself a spacer that obviously needs to be sized correctly AND must have a layer of non-conductive material around its edges to not short to the case.
Most units have some adjustment for battery length and the 510 connection but as with the all copper one there, some are different. That all copper one is a 4 nine clone that has a magnetic switch on the bottom and the 510 connection doesn't actually have a pin at all. The top of the battery itself is what will touch the adapter pin. The top copper piece has an insulator that just sticks out enough to keep the + end of the battery from shorting. Also, some mods don't like the extra length of button cells while I've heard that other ones like the button cells (but that isn't first hand knowledge).
Turns out that that all copper one looks to be the same exact one I ordered myself so I can use them separate OR take a tube and make it a dual 18650;)
You may notice a finned copper piece in the pic and someone on Ebay sells a few different type finned pieces you could add to your unit. They are just another 510 connection that you can daisy chain.
There's another seller that offers an extension piece in different colors for the Vamo units that I'm figuring may make them able to take (2) 18650 instead of using (2) 18350 if you wanted although it isn't necessary as the unit makes it unnecessary to have to run 2 cells (your choice).
Not all digital units can accept (2) batteries either so pay attention to this when you are purchasing stuff. I have some conflicting information on the Vamo Fire (wooden one) as the instructions mention it can but I've seen a review saying you can't and I'm afraid to try it.
*Remember that there's a reason why these mods weren't meant to take 2 cells. These are made for vaping and there's safety issues there. They didn't have laser enthusiasts in mind when they built them. Just a warning because if you vape, you might forget that you put 2 cells in the unit for your laser;)
Lots more to post but for now that's enough.

Remember that before this, I knew NOTHING about Vape stuff so please don't consider me the expert. Trying to lay this all out in an easy to understand manner.
Will say though that I picked up a no-nicotine flavor this morning called Horchata that was in the 1/2 price bin and I love it lol. I had accidentally thought I grabbed a no-nicotine bottle last time but it had the smallest amount you could get in it and I could tell as it bothered my lungs/throat a bit. This Horchata stuff is smooth and feels pretty much like nothing but smells nice. It's supposed to be some kind of drink but I don't drink either.

I have more pics of individual units that I'll post tomorrow so people can see how they work. I still have one Vamo V7, another copper unit and some adapter stuff and a few adjustable voltage pens. Expect everything but the V7 by the end of the week as the V7 is coming from China and tracking still shows it hasn't hit the states yet.

THANKS Pete for working through the pain you are experiencing and still giving back to the forum.(again)

I am in 100% agreement- we need , at the very least as much info as possible to avoid wasted time and/or fundage.

PLZ keep in mind that those here who are non-smokers are pretty much in the dark with these.-- I have more 'Q's than 'A's for sure.

TY to all who help helped or tried to help--

@Pman

If you go to youtube and search for "Vamo Fire 20 Watt Holz KSD" and go you about 2m 45s in you will see that the center post on the 510 connection has a flat head adjustment in the middle if you were to back that out a little the laser module might work. The positive contact might not fully be meeting on the laser module contact. Not sure if you have tried this on not just giving you some ideas as I can not see why it shouldn't work if all electrical contacts are made.

^ I'm not understanding why you think it's not making contact when I can switch the unit to charging mode and the laser lights up. When I say charging function I'm not talking about charging the unit. In the menu it has an option that you can choose to use a 510 to usb adapter to charge your phone or whatever using the unit as a charger.

Sorry I must have missed your edit or missed those first few lines when I read the post before I left work and did not see the mention of it working in charging mode. So with that in mind I replied again with out re-reading the post. Kinda sucks that it does not work. We can blame it on me speed reading since i was eager to get out of work. :)

I would be interested in how a Vamo V5 works with the module. I was just looking at ordering a V5 since they have come down in price and for my vaping needs. I know there is a newer controller board in the V6 and V7 models compared to the older V5. <V5 has variable voltage and wattage control while >V5 has only variable wattage control. The voltage is probably autimatically controlled by the calculation of OHM coil installed in the vaping tank and the wattage input manually on the Vamo V6 or higher model.

EDIT: Just one other thing I remember seeing earlier. I am only guessing here.. but from what I can see from this youtube video "Vamo V6, Vamo V7, E-Holly and KSD 30 Review" @ 7m 23s his 0.4 OHM coil is only calculated to draw 2.9V by the driver according to the display, and possibly in mobile/charge/power bank mode the output voltage is kicked up. I am sure you can see what the voltage output reading on the Fire display. Would that have anything to do with it why it might not work in the normal mode? Sorry long day at work and tired, just brianstorming here. Cheers!

Going to bed but if it is an issue to you I believe all the VV/VW units have a 10 second limit and as far as I know only the VW units can be set for as long as 30 seconds.

Jusb want to mention. I am NOT trying to exclude anyone if i mention how much you can buy these things for from US sellers. Just doing it to show how inexpensive they are and you don't have to wait weeks for a China delivery. Noticed that with a lot of this stuff the prices are about the same so there's little reason to buy them from there.
I've honestly have no idea why the V7 works and the V6 doesn't. Really baffled me. The fire says the same thing on the screen that it says when there's no atomizer on it and when you check the rest an e it says 9.9 ohms which is just the max reading. It will be interesting to see what others see with their units. Keep in mind that these Vamo units can cost just $20 at some places. The units I have are inexpensive and the mechanical mods are clones and are WAY less expensive compared to OEM units. That being said, they sure don't feel cheap. Kind of amazed at what you can buy for so little. I think that all copper 4 nine one was about $12 including shipping first class right in the US. It has the newer magnetic switch and comes with an extra magnet piece too. The seems between mod sections are barely visible and the threads are pretty well machined.
My left kidney is really bothering me so even though I'm very tired I am lying in bed trying to be a bit productive tossing out further thoughts on what I have first hand knowledge of.
I am going to go through the 4 bottom units today and try to show/explain how they work just to help others make educated decisions on what to purchase. Tried to get units that were all a bit different from each other but I would still personally like. Please keep in mind again that there's a huge amount of options out there for these and I only can report on what I physically have on hand. Wouldn't be able to really comment on other units. DTR came up with the adapter for Mechanical mods and anything beyond that such as the digital ones are gravy.
I think I can throw in pics of the new units while laying here using my note 4 so I'll try to add some now and then comment on them so this will be a work in progress. There's some adapters I purchased that are impotent to talk about.
I did purchase some actual vaping atomizers to play with my no-nicotine juice including some extra coils. Bought this more custom one that is only .5 ohms to see what a big size one looks like on these 22mm mods. This is what is called a sub-ohm atomizer and you better learn about these before messing with one as you can draw some SERIOUS current draw and really bad things can and do happen. DON'T mess with them until you understand the risks and what is required to stay safe. This is not a vaping thread and it's YOUR responsibility to learn these things.

Here's some pics with the M462 module attached so you can see what they look like with all the extension pieces on the mods. They can all be shortened using an 18350 or 16340 or really whatever you want as long as you make up for the spacing issues. They were all meant to take the width of an 18650 for Vaping. As mentioned before, if you are going to use the units to vape also you better be paying attention to what battery/batteries you have in the unit;)

Looks pretty massive with the extension tubes on and a bit odd
V2lZFQ.jpg

Looks way nicer in my opinion when you use a single 18350 as most of the review sites mention. I forgot to take a pic with the better look but here's one with an atomizer on it. Looked up this unit on ebay and the clones can be purchased for less than $25 shipped US seller first class. This is one pretty cool unit to display and feels as heavy as it looks. You would definately think it would cost way more than what it does.

Telescoping unit with side switch

Not going to post the pen unit yet until I get the 3 I ordered so I we can discuss those seperately. Looks like I'll be receiving the other 4 nine copper mod and the Vamo V7 extension pieces today so I can show those also.

Bought a couple of these adapters for digital units that have the ouput charging option. They were $7 each and will say that one of them wasn't cast very well. Haven't tested them yet but I would buy a different type next time if needed. I'm the kind of person that likes accessories on hand if there's any possibility I might use them (geek).
$_3.JPG

These are the V2,4,5,6,7 extension tubes that cost $7 each and I have one of each "color" coming. The auction doesn't say what length they are so i will report on that. The Fire and Carbon fiber units I have don't have removable sizing sections so I don't know if these will work with them but the V7 coming from Banggood is a normal unit and does.

More info to come showing how the magnetic switches work and some other info;)

EDIT:

I was going to write more stuff up today but got busy doing other things and my kidney pain is bothering met too much. I will say that I got those Vamo extensions and they are 18350 size. Found the one 510 adapter I thought i had lost and also got the 4 nine all copper clone that is indeed the exact same one as the first one someone sent me:) I'll try and report more tomorrow. I think the other pen mods will arrive.

I don't have my DTR module/adapter yet, I'm waiting on a diode, but here are a couple of quick pics of my new Maraxus host; the"Defender"!
I think this badboy will look pretty sweet paired with DTR's NDB7675 462nm.

Thanks nwfreefly, IIRC, I paid $22.75 for this one, which is a "Maraxus" clone. I've seen the real thing selling for over $200!
I have seen these selling for as low as $19.00 on ebay; probably get one even cheaper if you wanted to bid on one, or buy from China.
This thing is a tank, it is very heavy and well built. It's supposedly made of gold plated brass, and S.S., which looks chrome plated rather than just polished to me.

Yes, these mods are quite substantial. The "Hammer" unit especially;)
I think every one of my mechanical units are clones in fact.
I will be reporting on the pen mods as long as the 2 others I have on order arrive tomorrow. but lets just say that the VV ones are great:)

Well the "Tomorrow" came and went and it's looking like there's a chance a couple pens that I had ordered might not come as the tracking seems to have just stopped leaving Baltimore.
They were essentially like another I have anyways but I may still wait until other things arrive to put the explanations all together.
The important thing is everything that I have received has worked just fine;)
