In this cold weather I would expect any DPSS based laser to mode hop. Heck, I just turned on my 50mW green and it went up and down in power like crazy and mode hopped a bit.

i changed the battery for a cr123 that has a slight bit less voltage in it and its working perfectly??
awesome no more mood hops.

Undervolted then-were you using rechargeable to begin with?

Perhaps change the mode-hop edit to a note regarding voltage.

Looks promising so far- a great little laser. Can't wait for the night shots!

not rechargables the first cr123 was 3.1v this one is 2.7 lol idk.
but it woks now

Could be like some of the portable 473s from CNI, they would underperform if you used a fully charged battery.

That is perfectly normal. I had an O-Like 150mW mode hop like crazy one time. I just replaced the CR123a and I never got a problem again.

mine came today- almost identical to my pot-modded true DX 5mW Green that Dave put in a Jasper host for me. Both 28 mWs same spot size. Decent host- stable- good feel- this is a host that JayRob likes for 445nm build w/ 18650 and his custom copper HS. Could end up part of a matched set- LCC R/PHR BR/ 445 casio and this one. thank you Dino--send more free lasers---hak

i had my LCC set up with some mirrors and i was trying to see if a reflected beam had an effect on the beam power,beam dia. etc
and i think it was hit with a back reflection @300mA i believe it was. i thought only LOCs died from that
