Yep you can just bridge the case pin and the negative pin on the diode. But I actually connected the negative to the pill in this build for the negative input and bridged the case pin. Little redundant but why not.:tinfoil:

Yes I attached a thin piece of aluminum to the bottom of the driver than attached that to the inside wall of the pill. I have been using the ceramic Arctic Alumina thermal adhesive instead of more expensive micronized silver Arctic Silver version and have found it to be more than sufficient and it seems to have a better hold.

Here is where I got my last batch.

Well the negative input on the flexdrive will have to be attached to the host in some fashion.

bridge the case pin and neg on the diode, to what? Just together?

So what you did was connect the neg input to the pill, and then the case pin (white wire) to the pill as well? Thats kinda what it sounds like from what you said

On this one as I showed the negative driver input was pinched between the contact board and the pill inner wall.

Then I connected the negative driver output to the bridged case and negative pin on the diode.

Okay so it looks like on my diode you didn't bridge the case and neg on the diode. Can I just not hook up the case pin at all and be fine?

Yes if you use the pill as the ground as I did in the first picture you don't need to use the case pin. The negative side just has to be grounded somewhere. Input/output side does not matter.

its so bad ass! I'm not sure if I like the tininess though, I mean it has the EDC specialness of being small but the shape looks like something you could use on a much larger host. You got incredible power out of it, which is impressive, but I would also worry about it overheating. Actually, I'd be concerned about reflections when viewed from the side. Don't the little tactical prongs flare up?

It's a really tight fit in there for sure :tinfoil:
I don't know if I would be sticking this one in my pocket

So did you only use the top section of the module? (looks that way) the bottom of the aixiz is not used correct?

I got my sink in from Helios, I think I am going to assemble the laser tonight. How long did it take you to assemble it..30min?

Yep for this build you will not use the back half of the module. Should not take too long to put together.

im a little confused on why you sandwitch the negative lead from the driver between contact board and the pill. wouldnt that make the negative lead have contact with the positive end of the battery?

No the pill and the outer ring on the battery contact board are for the negative side and the center part that is isolated from it all is the positive contact.

I am loving this host
@DTR Do you remember how much you paid for the heatsink?

I might make a 500mw 405nm build with this :D

A heatsink for this host will run from $10 to $30 with this host depending on what kind you want and who you get it from. You can get them both in aluminum or copper with just a basic fit for an Aixiz 12mm module or a direct press head.
