This is my setup : ghost driver 2 at 350 mah, Sony diode 250mw can take up to 400 mah, aixiz module with focus able lens , 9v battery. The light seems really low, the soldering is fine. I just got these. What could be wrong?
The real problem with a 9V is not really the capacity but the discharge rate. Most discharge about 100mA or less and you have a diode that as you say is rated for 400mA.
The diode does look LED but there is also a chance that the driver is not supplying enough current to get above lasing threshold for the diode due to the battery. I am assuming you have not tested the output on a test load? That would be recommended before connecting it to a laser diode.
I Just tested a Cheap 9v battery with a load of 2.89v at ~400mA and it would be enough like i was saying for him to power this diode for a few minutes to see it Laze. After about 15 second it started to drop in currant slowly but still keeping above 300mA
I used a Simple LM1117 driver same set up as his just not the same manufactured of drivers.
He should have seen Light. My guess is he dint short the caps on the driver.
