Basically what you already have are about as basic as it gets for a beginner. (as far as DIY lasers go) Maybe you'd want to look into some basic electronics projects first to get a handle on measuring voltage, current and proper soldering and wiring techniques

I would suggest start by getting two cheap Li-Ions. Try these. They are probably not the best but they are $2.50
2 Trustfire 16340 CR123A 880 3.7V Rechargeable Battery | eBay

Second build a test load to see if the driver works. I never saw an answer to the question of weather you had a test load so I am assuming you don't. That is a necessary item and can be very cheaply constructed.:beer:

This is as simple as a test load can be.
