This is truly amazing! I'm thinking that while I could add the beams together that It probably would be really difficult and besides I've got mounts and dichro's so I'll probably make a labby.

This is what is reffered to as 'ART' Very nice build, I am allmost speechless :-X

Where did the custom parts come from? Is that your metal work? I would have to say, without a doubt, this is the cleanest build ive seen here, in a little over a year on this forum.

Let me think about that :-/....OK thunk.....Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

All home brewed, even down to the 6 way switch knob which used to be a belt drive pulley.

When the festive season has finished I will do some more work and post the results.

Festive regards rog8811

LOL, now your just being cocky.. I love it!

The completed unit looks totally professional, head to toe. I bet it moves around the house a lot, I know my favorites are always kept near by :D

*That picture sums its up, I wanted to add white to my scanner, but the requirement of a cube seemed a little out of reach. There wasnt enough room to squeeze anything else without changing the case. After seeing this thread, I must say I do regret not trying :-/

rog8811, that is amazing work. The machining job is beautiful.

I have a question for you: how did you polish the aluminum? I have a couple of projects going involving machining aluminum, but the material isn't particularly good-looking, so I need a way to polish it at the end. Do you have any suggestions?

Spectacular job and Merry Christmas! :)

To polish the ali I start off with fine wire wool to get out the major scratches then use a 6" buffing mop, coated with fine ploish wax, in the lathe. It gets very hot and my hands get very black but the result is worthwhile. I still need to polish the end caps but will do that when all the machining is finished.

Wow! Those pictures are really nice. Sweet home made host too...

This kind of craftsmanship would not be easy to follow even with a set of plans! One of a kind...

Now I'll pick my jaw up... off of the floor!

What is the exact color/power ratio to make 5mW of white light? In the RGB spectrum.
