Thanks for that Astro, that won't be as powerful as the NDB7875 that Paul suggested would it be? Do you think this is better than the NDB7875 for burning? thanks

No, not as powerful but it has a very nice tight beam, so it's a good combo.
Paul's suggestion is better if you want even more power.
See how you go and maybe later you can add to your collection as you gain experience.

They are no longer being made, but you can get old new stock ones. I bought one about a year ago just to have a spare. Check eBay and also Ricker's sales thread as he had some last time I checked.

Has anyone brought up or compared dtr's N465 diode beam profile?
It would be a nice color capable of 4 or 5W's..

Edit: do want to add if your willing to go all out for a custom host with the goodies of a adjustable Black Buck why not use a beam expander with a NUM44?

A BE would help with the divergence of the NUBM44 diode, but most use the 6X cylindrical lens pair first, the add the BE. That is the best way to tame it.

Whats got your radar Len?:) The name? The kinda young kid I want Power to burn?
If it's any help he "said" 2 years ago he had "Eagle Safety Glasses" and has built two other 2W units.. Could be a fab but maby not.
I agree I want to burn the moon thing is a bit scary but thinking young or not he's somewhat responsible..:can:
