Hi LPF,

I'm planning on doing a school science project about the absorption of different wavelengths of light on different color materials. Although I already know the answer to this question I need to prove it by doing a demonstration. I was planning on putting a certain color of balloons in a straight line and then aiming a laser at the line of balloons and determining how many balloons of a certain color, a specific color of laser popped in a certain period. Below a picture of how I planned my setup:

I bought a M140 module and a 300mW 650nm from DTR for this purpose. Sadly it looks like that the M140 is one of those freak diodes that can't handle above 700mA. The outcome is clear, it LED'd. On the other hand a blob of solder lied on the table and it shorted the ADJ and OUT pins of the LM317 driver for 650nm. It also LED'd. I don't have the money to order another module from DTR, and I also don't have enough time for it to arrive here on time, so I need your help. I need someone to test the above experiment with a 532nm, a 445nm and a 650nm laser, I will pay for the cost of the balloons and ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures and videos (or if you can't do both I will take snapshots out of the video) will also be needed, I will also give credit to you in my project. PM me if you can help (I will send you the specifics like balloon color, etc.), any help would be greatly appreciated! :thanks: for reading!

Haven´t read all of your text, but I don´t think it´s a good idea to show this in a classroom if you planned to do?
Balloons are highly reflective, especially when it has similar color as the wavelength.

Don't worry, I wasn't planning on doing a live demo (as I am aware of the dangers), I was just going to show them a video.
