Don't have it, I'll try with the solder blob being really careful, If I won't be able to do it I'll buy it.

If you don't have a desoldering pump or wick, you can try to melt the solder blob,
and then quickly flick it off with a jerk of the hand.
Or just bang your hand on the table, while you hold the diode.
If the solder is soft enough, the sudden stop will pull it off the diode.

Looks like a low powered one. Good!
Set your test load to 100mA and try the laser diode, if it is still working..

crap... look like my solder is broken, every time I plug it in a socket it switch off the main electricity... seem I have to buy a new one :(

LOL.. it is shorted.. get urself a new one and trash (or try to fix if you are experienced) the old one. I'll be waiting :beer:

Ok I got a new solderer, it days 30W on the blister and there's a sticker with 60W on the solderer ((this one), now I'm going to build the test load.

beware with the soldering iron when soldering to diode pins. 60W is way too much and you can damage the diode by only giving it a small touch with the iron. When you're going to solder, make sure the iron is cool (hot enough to melt solder).

anyways, turn it on and continuously try to melt solder on it. When it start melting, left it on for 1 minute more and turn it off. Then solder to the diode quickly (do not exceed 3 seconds with the iron on the diode pins). That should work ;)

So I have to apply the solderer tipo dirctly on the diode? I thought to use the solder blob metod.

You don't solder to the LD like you solder to a common led etc.
IT WILL NOT SURVIVE to more than 3 seconds with the iron there... thats all, figure by yourself :p

If the components you want to connect don't heat up, the solder will not make a reliable connection.
The idea is not to melt the solder with the iron.

Also, pre-tinning the components you want to connect will make it easier and less messy.

Don't use to much solder.

Practice on something else until you get a good feel for the whole process.
Then do your diode.

well, soldering is pretty hard, the solder melts but the diodes ends doesnt keep the blob, it solidify on its own, also I got a spark from the solderer basis, don't know if it's broken or it'll explode or else

ok, i think that's unusual, I plugged it again and another sparks came out... is it normal?
Here a photo, I'm really sorry for the quality but I'm using the cellphone.

The soldere turned all brown and tarnished like it was burned.
