Depending on you budget/how much electronics you want to do a rework station might also be an option. I've been drooling over the 3 in one stations with hot air, soldering iron and fume removal.

They've sure gone down in price. I got one like a year ago for about $170. I thought they'd cost a lot more, but they really don't. In the end though, the soldering iron is what I use most and the smoke sucker only occasionally comes in handy.

I use a WD 1 with a NT1 tip...I have no complaints with it. It heats to preset in about 10 seconds.

I also use EC1002 for more basic soldering. It holds a good temp and there are alot of different tips for it.
