I downloaded a Sanyo laser diode catalogue thinking it'll only have some info about what they are pimping this year, but it turns out it contains alot more intresting info.
www dot photonic-products dot com/techinfo/sanyo_tech/sanyo_catalogue2008.pdf (i can't post proper links yet)
It has alot of more general information on laser diodes which many will find intresting and even some humerous advice like "4. Reselling, disassembling, or reverse engineering of a blue-violet laser diode is prohibited." 803T? :
It also includes a number of laser driver circuit diagrams, including one automatic current control and four automatic power control (photodiode feedback to keep a constant brightness) circuits which can be easily made by enthusiasts.
Some of them look like the sort of circuits you get on laser pointers.
