Sagging battery?

Hi, so today I completed a second blu-ray build, succesfuly, that makes it a 2/2. This one is higher power, and I want to burn stuff!!! The driver is set at 100 mA (Rkctsr), and the diode comes from a PHR, sent by accident by the guy from modwerx ( I wanted an LPC-815). Now the problem is it doesn't burn without great focusing. It's defenitively brighter than my 50 mW, but I think the 9 volt battery (the square ones) I'm using is sagging too quickly. Anybody got a good replacement the size of an AAA, that is 3 volt? I got place for 3 of those in my host.

Also today, I completed another build, a green one, placed in a highliter pen. It's 5 mW, very bright, but with alot of artefacts (in the darkness you see them well). Is this normal? I like that one, I reused a rechargable battery from a toy, and you plug the pen in a recharging base (the remote control) to charge it. Note : the module comes from DX.

WOW... I'm restless...!!  :D. I've just come back from London, and still in the time lag, I'va assembled two lasers within two hours! :D

Search for 10440 batteries.  They are 3.7V and rechargeable.  It is what we normally use with a linear driver.  Bear in mind that a "fully charged" 10440 is actually giving you 4.2V so keep any upper limit of voltage in mind

Peace,
dave

Do I have to change the settings of my driver?

Nope.  The Rkcstr is good (with a violet diode) for 7.5V - 12V.  If the driver was set with sufficient voltage (at least 7.5V), it should not change anything.

Two fully charged 10440's will work for your set-up. When you notice the power starting to drop off, re-charge the batteries.

Peace,

More questions!
Is two 10440 good for an LPC diode with a Lm317 driver? And can some one give me a schematic?
