So I recently received my Romisen laser and the wire that is connected to the spring broke :/.

I soldered the wire back to the spring and reassembled it, but it doesn't work for some reason. I noticed that where the wire was connected the 'solder' didn't melt. Odd.

However I can eliminate that the connection is good.

any suggestions?

Thanks

Edit: I was looking at dx and wondering if I should just buy another, and I noticed a FDA warning. Possibly to intimidate you, or maybe FDA has contacted DX. hmm...

Important FDA Warning for all >5mW Lasers: FDA advices all customers that these lasers may be purchased only if you are NOT a citizen of the United States and you are NOT currently living in the United States.
 This is kind of scary..
Back to topic- Make sure that when you place the module back into the housing, that all connections are secure with the housing. Also, be careful that you are not shorting anything.

Fixed! I'm not sure why it wasn't working though. Oh well, I'm happy I got it working.

Yeah it sucks they have that on there, I'm assuming (hoping lol:p) that it is there just to scare you as I am planning on ordering a dx200.

Yeah, lets hope that the US doesn't get too serious about this any time soon.

It might be that the spring is being touched to the side when compressed.
