Rayfoss hosts - what can you do with 'em?

I've been looking at the Rayfoss hosts and considering them. But, what can you do with them? Do the O-Like green modules fit? (Online, O-Like says 12mm, but the Rayfoss hosts say 11.89-11.92, small tolerance.) Will an Aixiz module fit? (The Aixiz website says they come in 8x14mm and 12x30mm, I mean the 12x30 ones.)

New-style o-like modules as well as DX modules fit wonderfully into those hosts.
They are awesome for the price.

Oh, neat. Thanks. Those are less expensive than the O-Like modules. Does anyone know about Aixiz 12mm modules, though?

They may be cheaper, but the ones from O-like are much more likely to be up to spec than the DX modules. I can remember a review here where a member measured the DX200 modules at around 130mW average output. Still not bad for the price..

Don't have any knowledge about the Aixiz though, sorry.

Also, for using one of the DX modules, would I need to solder on my own spring, or just shorten the negative wire? And for the positive, do I connect that to the host? I can figure out how, if that's what I'm supposed to do.

Yeah, you'll need to figure out some kind of spring. I ended up putting magnets on my CR123A to make it long enough (the longest spring I could salvage from broken radios etc was too short)... As for the positive connection, you can just rip off the wire, the brass of the module will touch the body of the host, making electrical contact. Of course you'll need to short out the pushbutton, since you won't be able to reach it inside the host.

The DX "200mW" module I recently bought ended up being brighter than the Rayfoss 150mW I bought earlier. I have no LPM, so I can't tell you for sure, but it does seem quite a bit brighter. Your mileage may vary.
