Nope, yellow diodes do not exist :)

Oh wow 380nm, 504nm and 612nm. Very rare wavelengths. I want then! Have fun with that :)

Just curious, what is the value of the system? How did you obtain it?

Re: How to dissect flow cytometry machine

612nm and 594nm are the Gas laser but 380 appear whitish purple... The 543 is leaves green and 488 keep messing with my eyes(it stay light blue and look greener after a minute). The most impressive one is 503nm is the best!! It is beautiful and much bluer than 520nm.

Post some pictures! I want to see this thing!

Sounds like there might be an argon laser in there for the 488 line? Unless it's DPSS (Wouldn't that be nice!?) - make sure you are cooling it properly if it is Ar! Certainly the HeNe lines are a little rarer.

488 is an awesome colour, sometimes it looks cyan other times it looks greenish blue, changes again next to other colours.

The 380nm will fluoresce just about everything so on a lot of surfaces it'll look bright blue and on others (Things like black anodized aluminium and other metals) it'll look like a dull white. At least, that's my experience with UV lasers.

Re: Rare Wavelength from Cytometry Machine

Sorry for double posting but the 380;445;473;488;503;532;638 is direct diode... But 540 is dpss;780;594;612 is Gas.
All the diodes are single mode. And tried to take the picture but iPhone won't pickup the beam...any advice? The diode extracted came with it's own driver but I need someone to lpm it and how to upload photos here using a mobile phone?

When was the unit manufactured?

Are you sure they are all direct diode? I wasn't aware 532nm came in direct diode, and 473,488,503 would all be fairly recent developments in direct diode.

780,594 and 612 are all HeNe lines - are they individual tubes for each wavelength? Don't see the 594 and 612 all too often. :D

Awesome piece of kit anyway, got the whole rainbow there! :p

Yup...we are going to have to require you to post pictures of this find. :D

What is the make/model # of this system?? It sounds like this unit will go on my list of things to watch for on eBay...

Don't even have to make an account, just drag pictures onto the site screen and an upload prompt will come up.

interesting. subscribing. I've dug in cytometers, but i'll wait and see what you get out of this one. surplus ones can be had cheap on occasion. though usually because they're not functioning right.
