Help me to recognize this module

my name is Chaitanya and i m new to this field,I bought one old laser module from market but i don't know that how to operate it so plz tell me how can i do it.

Voltage rating and other information and images of it are attached.

Two pipe as shown fin fig with red cap for what purpose these pipes r given?

There is one cable which contain three wires in it near voltage wires,

there is also one cable at output which contain three wires.


what is use of these wires plz tell in detail.

agreed....650W? Umm....practical uses are as follows: constructing your own mini-death star, spontaneously combusting the neighbor's dog which keeps you up at night, cooking pizzas, and last but not least creating a home defense system that uses that laser mounted as a turret to annihilate burglars....

Guessing only, if i can't see the inside ..... anyway .....

Red and black big wires are probably the high current power supply, the others can be anything (probably the ones near the output are from a power sensor) ..... pipes are almost certainly for water cooling (and it looks as it require a lot of it) .....

Anyway, the unit looks more as a custom build for some specifical machine, not as a commercial unit, and i can bet it require a specific PSU, too ..... (mean, a PSU tha can also give the driving pulses for the pulsed operation, this specific cavity seem rated only for pulsed operations)

It look very difficult to find any other details, especially if is a custom part, planned for be sold only mounted inside a machine ..... i have the same problem with a Big Sky ER-YAG cavity, no ways for get technical specifications .....

By the way, another thing ..... that unit looks as a cavity that had to work in a sealed environment, but the mist indicator (the cylinder at the top filled with silica gel dessicant) looks pink ..... and this usually mean that the cavity is no more sealed, or the environment is at too high humidity level (slica gel indicators are usually blue or deep-blue when dry, and become pink when too much humidity was adsorbed and is required a replacement) ..... but i can be wrong about this, i'm guessing only from pinky color in the pic.

The ESD sticker indicates diodes are involved, The two red cover remind me of fibers, maybe this is just a super high power fiber coupled laser? Wouldn't match the voltage requirement though.

I imagine one of the cables is for a thermistor relay or such to keep it from overheating.

The best idea I can come up with is, as above, to contact the company, tell them that you are in possession of the part and ask for any data-sheets/documentation on it.

It is likely an IR diode block with a lot less than 650W CW.
So no pretty beam, but a nasty burner if you can power it.

It appears you may need vision correction surgery.
