Here you go, it's shot with an iPad so it's not amazing. It's also my first video tutorial so I'm also not amazing.

Good luck!

Edit: scratch that, the method I described in my video is incorrect, I did the adjusting for mine a little differently and had this idea afterward. The downfall of this method is that it doesn't factor in the depth of the crown window and does not accurately focus the laser.

My apologies.

Alright, well I'm probably not gonna be modding mine until I have some free time in a week or so - if you feel like making another video, I think that would be a pretty cool thing to have posted (maybe even stickied) somewhere appropriate on the forum. Otherwise, I'll just go by your text instructions :yh:

So... Interesting development. My focus seems to be deteriorating. The correct focus has been creeping closer to one end of the focus ring, and as of a week or two ago, surpassed it. By this, I mean that the focus ring is all the way down, and the focus is gradually diffusing over time, even as the focus ring remains static. Currently the laser dot is about the size of a medium coin from 5 feet.

Olike is incredibly fast and providing a tracking number sets them far beyond the other companies. Noting I'm including the lower price for all this service. I was leary at first $72.99 for the 100Mw, cheapest they sell. It arrived at my door less than 6 days after. Only advice to them would include finding a service as equally fast that also ships the battery. I was told to expect this separatly, and could be waiting another week. Their lasers shouldn't use batteries that are awkward to find, most places only have these on special order. I'm assuming shipping the battery separate from the laser draws little attention from customs as this device is illegal in Canada. I have had three orders seized in the past. The first being a 50mW, not knowing that your flagged and every subsequent order would be checked have had <5mW sent back. I read somewhere that they ship the battery separate and don't bother with the warning sticker. This I decided was the solution and although the box was tampered with it arrived.

So if the batteries could be found at Walmart this would solve the issue of how long do I wait for them? I can't speak for the quality as of yet but the price is far cheaper and the shipping much faster.

If anyone has the 500mW green would like to know how it compares to the 100 and while I order goggles I might add this onto the order. Last note they should charge the duty as well so DHL can leave the package in my mail box. They charged me an additional $20.00. For those who hate running around looking for a Depot station after a long day at work. Fix those two things and their by far the best. Noting I'm biased now as I'm sure there are others equally as good. I needed to join this forum, my first ever to get the advice I needed to get a 100mW cheap and fast.

I can only agree, from my own experience. I have never had any issues what so ever with my orders from o-like. Some months ago I bought a kit from Moh, and I bought the bateries seperate. It was 4 x cr123, rechargable 1000mah 3,6v. I paid 6usd for the 4pack and I must say that they work flawless! Before I got them I wasnt even able to burn anythimg with the laser since I was using non rechargable cr123 3,0v from Philips. So you can indeed go and buy standard batteries that will work, however be aware of low voltage etc compared to the drivers min voltage. If you like I can send you the link for the batts that I bought. I heard a lot of stories about scam batteries and such, but the 4 rechargables I bought for 6usd delivers every bit of juice that is stated.

Best regards

Thx... I guess I'll wait for the batteries or call around. The worlds largest shopping mall 30 minute drive away has about a dozen hobby stores, if none of them keep at least one set in stock I'll wait. Odds
Are the package will arrive Monday morning so I'll exercise some patience. After all the most important device arrived no incident. Appreciate the advice on the batterys and thank you.

What alternative battery if any can I easily find while I wait. It's the brc 18650 3.7V 300ma. Is their an alkaline alternative or a Ni-Cad I can pick up from Wall-Mart? I can't find any matches for the actual dimensions 18.6mm x 65.2mm. Is there an alkaline C size that will suffice until part two of my order arrives?

has anyone determined the power rocks divergence for long distance?

Well, initially it was pretty good, but as I mentioned in my earlier post, the best I can get now is a coin-sized circle from 5 feet. Still not sure what's going on, and I've been too busy to really investigate or ask around here. Probably gonna start a thread on it in a few weeks when I have the time.

is it an issue with the focus maybe?

Well yeah, that's sort of what I've been assuming...

and so it's clear, I never did have time to modify the focus setting as in the earlier discussion

i have a question once you have it focused good though to infinity does it stay focused or does it bounce loose easily and you need to do it all over again?

I think you've misunderstood what I'm having a problem with... I can no longer focus the laser to infinity. The closest I can get is the coin-size beam at 5 feet. I don't know though if this is a defect only with this particular laser, or if it is a common issue for this model.

oh ok did this happen when you tried to rig it like in the video?

No offense, but you've gotta read stuff more, dude... ^^;

Like I said 2 posts ago, I never had the time to try modifying the laser in any way. This is something I noticed a little after that discussion, and it's a completely separate issue - the focus just started deteriorating over time.
