You will NOT be able to just swap out the diode. The voltage and current required for a diode out of a DVD burner like an LPC will be a lot different from the the current diode. And there is isn't going to be any type of heatsink in this flashlight/laser currently that you would need with a DVD burner diode for it to survive. I used host like this just recently, I took out the LED's and laser, and put in a heatsink, LPC diode in a aixiz module, and a flexdrive so the diode wont burn out from to much power. You would have to do the same thing, a host with a laser like this already built in will not make turning it into a burning laser any easier. I'm not even sure if this host would work at all, I don't see information about what batteries it uses. I searched and found one that looks the same, and it says it uses 1x AA battery, which is not enough for a DVD burner :cryyy:. I would cancel the order if still can, and look for a DVD burner tutorial here and just follow that, and get whatever host is used in the tutorial.

Hope that helped, and good luck searching.

Can't really say, I have no idea how much power the current diode is getting. Without that information it's impossible to say what you could replace it with. But i doubt you could a significant power increase with the current way it's setup now anyway.
