Need some advice

Hello all ive been trying to figure out this myself but i couldnt.
Yesterday i lighted a candle with my 1-1.4 w laser, i did it really fast
but today i havnt been able to do it.
I know there could be many reasons for this
but i already tried to focus it correctly and everything but i still cant get
it to light up. What do you guys think i am doing wrong?

Any advice would be nice.

what batteries are you using? are they fresh (fully charged)? are you using a heatsink to cool the diode? what driver do you have? what's the current? some photos would be helpful, too...

that exact build im using but dont know is it really is 1.6 i just know its ober 1w and no the batt is not fresh actually now that you mention it, it might be the problem but could the baterie drain the power that much for the laser nto to light it up?, at first i did think it could but the candle does smoke alot.
