Here are my tips on lasers...

Threaded lenses tend to move. A good way to keep them in place is beeswax. It is sticky, easy to mold when warm, and when cold, will not move. It is easy to remove as well.

Optics sets can be expensive. Take apart old video or 35mm cameras for lenses. All sorts and sizes can be obtained, cheap, and they are ar coated for all visible wavelengths.

Cleaning lenses with cloth usually leaves lint. Canned air will leave coatings of crap due to impurities. The best way to clean a lens is a balloon, attached to a thin "juice box" straw. Fill it up and it it will give a nice stream of air.

A mixture of 50% isopropyl, 50% acetone (not nail polish remover) Will clean those stubborn glass lenses, w/o harming the ar coating.

I have more, but i cant remember now.
