The pictures are dark. Are the pins in a straight line? Is the diode round or flat?

the diode is round open can, and the pins are all in a line and the case appears to be made of plastic

there were 2 diodes in the sled this one was the one that had the big heat sink attached to it so i dont think its a weak IR

Your first post says its from an Xbox sled, if thats the case you have a very weak red/ir combo diode.

the other diode didnt look like the ones up there although it was a normal closed can 3 pin diode it had no heat sink and looked like it was set up to be the ir diode, im pretty sure that this one is the blueray diode

Yea but is it supposed to be a replacement sled for an xbox or an xbox 360?

The only reason I ask is that you keep saying xbox not xbox 360 and Tikilaser is talking about an HD DVD.

The PHR-803T sled comes from the External "HD" DVD DRIVE of the Xbox in the Xbox. The sled you got is for the DVD Drive. Witch is a weak red/ir combo diode.

What you wanted to get is this:

>>>PHR-803T<<<

This contains the Blu-ray 405nm diode.
