I broke my flexdrive a while ago, and as I was sitting here with no lasers, I remembered that I had my rkcstr drivers. But then I remembered that I needed to have a few volts over what the diode needed. So my question is, What batteries will work to power a 815 @ 300 mA in a groove?

One more thing, If I get rechargables, Will I need a diode before the driver? I remember hearing something about that somewhere.

Not with a rckstr driver. The diode drop is for a driver with TTL. I have put up to 9v into mine with no problems.
