Huh, that's funny I tried the finger thing, and it did just that. And I got to about 80mW with warm breath.

I have the die4thing which appears to be very accurate and is similar to yours, and I have mounted it in a project case.

I noticed it runs off a 9v battery? I wonder if you can change that? the die4thing runs off of 5v, so I just plug it into a USB port and it's good to go, and when I'm not near a computer, like that will ever happen; I just plug the cable into one of those usb cell phone chargers and it's ready to go.

Im in the middle of putting it in a case, that is why I made the extension for the LCD. I measured it up lastnight and will get back to it after all my visiting today. I found an interesting host, and plan on adding some extra stuff. Im never content with whats already been done and am taking it slow. Im setting up a nice useless (until now) PS3 diode for the power on illumination

Coolness, post pics when it's finished. It would be nice if the person making these would stop using high temperature black paint on the sensors.

There is a much better coating that is used on the die4thing that's meant to be baked on, it's not paint; I believe it is a black carbon mixture.  Maybe with another revision he'll change that too, I'm told it really increases the accuracy across the sensor, but you need to keep your fingers off of the sensor, so that you don't oil up the sensor; so I have never come in contact the sensor and I really like what I see compared against my LaserCheck.

I wish the die4thing had a serial output, it doesn't; he was suppose to be working on that mod, not sure if he has offered that yet; I do like the large lite display though.

So it comes with software? Now that would be nice to have, but first I'd need to have the serial output added though.

If you buy the pc interface option, the software comes with it on a disk. As for the finger thing, I didnt touch it, just hovered in front of it. I even keep it in a sealed bag when not in use to avoid dust collection.

I had a nice transparent case ready for the meter, but had a sci-fi epiphany…
