Lol no worries. Just beware! I had no lasers as of August 1 st. I got it bad!!!! And no I don't have money like that! Yeah the people here are awesome. I was blown away that they would help just some random person who wanted to join their community. So I'm just paying it forward. Pm me with any questions. I can always use another friend in the forum.i see the mail truck! I will either get my sci fi laser in twenty min..... Or tomorrow. I'll let you how it does!

Just opened the box and put in the batteries. Guess what! After about a min it lit the cig!!! I stand corrected 240 mw 660nm will eventually light a cig!

Oh wow. There are some really nice bits on there. Good prices too. Not just charging a massive amount of money because they can. The only trouble is they are in the u.s. it takes forever for postage to the UK .
I'm not sure about them thar goggles.. I've recently come to realise for decent levels of protection you need to pay a bit more... Only thanks to this forum..sadly. I've got 2 pairs of those goggles coming from China and I'm a bit suspicious about how cheap they were now.
And I'm currently building my first DVD burner pointer. Got all the bits and its nearly finished. :wave:

I love this place. I've been doing lasers for about the same as you dude. Do you build? I've noticed that its a lot cheaper than buying complete units and a lot more fun.

I love lurking for last minute auctions that are crazy cheap. I got a 2AAA 5mw red pointer for like 20p. I keep wanting to rip it apart and see if I can make it more powerful..
Its funny what this hobby is doing to me...

He's in Israel . Shouldn't take long at all to get to the uk. And I have a couple hosts. Sinners msv1 and a Cree c11. I need to do something with. Oh and I saw a paint sprayer the other day and said damn that would make an awesome laser!! Lol

The Joker is awesome! For $50 I got an over 160mw green. The 100mw series. You might not get that power but it will come with a free graph so you know exactly what you are getting, defiantly won't be under 100mw and can defiantly burn.

The cheap china goggles depends on which ones you get, but yeah it's uncertain. Some are really good I have ones that work for 2000mw laser. but I only know because I have an lpm and I shine the laser through them and measure the output power.

If you don't have an lpm I would suggest that you don't risk your eyes. get more expensive goggles like $40 eagle pair or even maybe $80 oem's depends on the lasers the eagle pair are OD4 which reduce the intensity of the light by 10,00 times or more OD8 by about 10 million times Thorlabs - Certified Laser Safety Glasses info here.
