MY Dos Centavos
If my colllection went missing(say stolen)
and I was starting over with what I know now, .... This is what I would do if wanted the basic four (R_G_B_V)
This is assuming you want your set somewhat matching and were not bent upon little pen lasers and did not care to DIY.
THE B ..There several good guys out there but IMHO Luke (yobresal) makes very nicest 445s($200).:bowdown:
THE V..For the Br($200) I would buy an extracted 12X (small extra fee) from UK Morgan, a flexdrive from Dr Lava(Andrew), a copper host from Moh(Matt) and find a Vet willing to assemble for a reasonable fee.:yh:
THE G / THE RFor the 532nm and 650nm I would try to get in on a JETLASERS GB-- thier 150mW Greens($220-$250) (PL-C or Ti) and the Red($220) PL-C 200mW (+or-)are nicely overspec and well built- with incredible support and warranty. (I am admittedly biased on JETLASERS (Gray) as I have done two GBs and JETL he's been very kind to both myself and MANY here at LPF :beer::thanks:with samples and support way over and beyond what we expect from China(or any) laser makers.)
Get a nice lockable carry case and cut black foam to hold all four and be done with it.
I think all this with the needed extras would come in at around $1000. You would have dependble handhelds all with decent duty/rest cycling.
