With these: 808nm 300mW High Power Burning IR Laser Diode DIY Lab | eBay UK

6 x 300mW diodes with adjustable focus.

No idea how to would be powered, what shape parabolic mirror i need and if i need any lenses. I have about £100 for the project.

Can you guys help? I have a GCSE in electronics that i just finished, and i A*'d it, but that doesnt mean i will understand everything :)

Thanks in advance

Why IR?

Why not start with a visible wavelength first?

One 445nm diode can output more then all six of those IR diodes put together.

I suggest you start reading through the forums....

Very interesting idea indeed. I would suggest adding a small (thin) convex lens, that you can move back and forth to move the fx. If you are looking for red DVD diodes, search for 660/650nm or simply red.
