ahh! stop! dont look into the IR! its 1000 times brighter than that really looks! its like looking into the full powered green laser but you cant see it!max said:
did you pot mod it? you may have turned it too much, try turning it back, if it doesnt work, then yes, you probably over powered it and it wont work now.
again, NEVER look into the IR.
I know is dangerous , i looked in it through a digital camera.

Yes, i did pot mod it and i have tried to mod it back but nothing happened. If it still emits IR it means that the diode is not totally broken right? So what can i do to repair it? :-/

i dont think that you can repair it, you will just need to get another one, (of course you could send it to me so that i could use the barrel ) but you have broken it beyond repair :'( you should have looked around to see how pot modding usually doesnt work, and ya, good thing you looked into it with a camera instead of your eye!

ya, you also could have fried the crystals
i have a moded ir laser it was green ,bought it from dx,the 50 mw version when i put my finger infront of the laser i cant feel heat but if i put there a match instead of my finger it lights it up , try pointing it to something black and dont foget to use googles !

If the diode is okay but the crystals are shot, you could try making it into an IR. I guess you could verify this by shining in onto a piece of paper and looking at it with a digicam - should be well visible if the diode is okay. You might need to get the crystal set out of the way first though as that could be in the way.
Also, you have to adjust and possible replace the focussing optics as they are set for the crystal, not de diode output. Kinda tricky work when you are working with almost invisible light.

Yep, all he did was put just enough fog in the room that the camera couldn't see it, but enough to make the beam really bright. You don't need much fog at all to see a laser beam. Notice that the dot isn't as bright as it should be for a beam that bright.tone1132 said:
