I have a class 3 b laser diode from a Hatachi-LG Multi DVD Rewriter this one has 4 pins the drive is 2011. Laser IEC60825-1 how do I hook up to the pins for this for laser burning project? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Are you sure that is the laser diode model number? IEC 60825-1 has something to do with laser safety standards.
Otherwise, you need the actual model number of the dvd rw drive to try and figure out the diode part number used.

Yep, we'd need the actual diode ID to find out an accurate pinout.

Looks like your diode might actually have IR and red built in (and the reader), here's a picture of a common 4 pin diode pinout, but please note this may not be your diode's pinout.

You're gunna want to hook up a driver to your diode to get it powered, and get a bit of heatsinking with it too. To get a focal point to burn with, you're gunna need a focusing lens which you can pick up from DTR's shop.
