How can I use this flashlight as a host for a 445nm build?

Here's the flashlight:

My friend wanted me to play with it and see if I could use it as a host. On circle 1, I cannot split this section apart, so I am not sure how I will fit a heatsink in there. On circle 2, it shows that it uses a barrel of 3 AAA batteries. I'll probably need to measure the dimmensions to find a pair of li-ion batteries. Unless, do you think 3 AAA batteries can power a M140 445nm diode at 1.62A with a boost driver? Thanks for all the help guys:)

Oh, and as for the thing in between the two circles, it contains the driver, so I think I can just de-solder this led driver and replace it with another driver.

Weird. I still can not see it in your original post. Thanks for the link.

Why do you need to get it apart at 1? Is the reflector held in up there? Is it possible that there is some kind of thread locking compound? Maybe try gently heating it with a propane torch?

As to the battery issue, you might consider using the holder and running 3 10440 cells in parallel.

Yes, the reflector is in the. I'll try and take or apart when I have time. Hopefully its threaded somehow. As for the batteri, what driver would you recommend using for a current of 1.6A and the voltage of 3 10440 batteries?

He's suggesting running the batteries in parallel, IE @ 4.2v. I don't know (doubt) this would be enough to cover the current draw of dual boost drivers...

I know you can modify a flex to run around the numbers you're looking for... tho I have no clue if that avenue is more efficient or not than going with 2 benboosts for example.

You could also check if you could stuff a 26*** in there... or perhaps source some 22500s.... and ditch the 10440s

Or, you could keep the cell holder as is, use three li-ion 10440s, and use a buck regulator ;)
