How can i hook this up?

This is a red laser diode. I believe its 5mW. It came out of a laser lightshow machine. And i wanted to use the red diode itself but have no idea how to hook it up. Any ideas?

You can probably just hook it to a 3V battery. Red should be positive

Are you planning on hooking it up on a battery without a driver? Or does it already have a driver?

That little shrink tubed part that you can see part of at the rear of the module is usually a driver on these little modules

@ x90z75ek I was just gunna hook it up to some batterys to see what happends. should i try to use some triple aaa's? or i guess a cr2

Since Dave recommended a 3V battery, you should use a cr2.
