Hey all, im new to the site and kinda new to lasers, i got the 532nm SDLaser301 (Check sig) and after playing around with it and the occasional drop (this laser is pretty tough) i have ended up with alot of splash that rotates with the focus, i was wondering how i can add this wasted energy to the beam instead of just blocking it out, also, the very frist lens after the pump process got some smoke on it after i tried burning from that lens :banghead: i was wondering if anyone has a good way to remove this, this may also be whats causing the splash AFAIK, if you need pics that is no problem but they will be from a phone, thanks in advance.

What form of alcohol, and ive tried a dry cotton swab but nothing seems to work, ive even darkened the inside of the host to stop any form of reflection but that hasnt helped.

Spend the $4/£3 to get some lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth... problem solved.

Alcohol - 75-90% Isopropylene Alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol ( or 101 proof) works fine for glass lenses. I'd personally stay away from Methyl Alcohol as it is really corrosive to plastics and most coatings.
don't think I'd reccomend it for plastic due to the possibility of dissolving certain plastics.
