Hello everyone. I am planning to make my own DIY build using the Osram PL450B Laser Diode, but I have a few questions that hopefully can be answered.

First off, I'm gonna let you know that I'm still sort of new to lasers. I have built a 405nm PHR laser a few years back, as well as a red laser. In both of these builds, I didn't use a host, I used my helping hands set, a LM317 Driver circuit (or DDL circuit) and a computer PSU, but this time I'm going to go all out and get a proper host. Oh and I am waiting on Eagle Pair 190 - 540nm glasses to come in the mail. :D

So here is what I plan to purchase:
Laser Host (not sure what I should get yet, and not quite sure what I need)
18650 Rechargeable Battery and charger (Probably going to pick this up from Survival Laser)
Osram PL450B w\ Driver and glass lens (Seems like DTR's laser shop would be a good choice)

OK, well on to the questions.

So, as far as laser hosts are concerned, should I get the diode/driver combo, or try to purchase a host with the driver preset to what I need? Are there pros or cons to both choices, or is it really just personal preference? Also, I was thinking of choosing this Jayrob Kit. Would this kit work for what I need? Will I need to get the diode without the driver circuit?

It would seem that Survival Laser is a good store, and seeing as I already made a purchase, I hope I didn't make a mistake! Are there any users here that have used this store, and is it a trustworthy store? If not what would be good alternatives?

Thanks for your time!
