Hi

So I received my parts for my first build.
And I just cant figure out how to put it together
These are the parts
HV6EY.jpg

So first the diode wires
kD0i4.jpg

I know that there should be 2 wires, but I see 3, and they are all welded together.
1-Now do I cut them and use the red and the black one, and leave the white one ?
Or what ??

Second is driver and the driver holder
Here is how they look

2-And this thing, (What is it btw ?)
cq6q4.jpg

3-Where do I put the driver ?

4-what do I do with ground wire and where do I weld it ?

5-
So I am sure that I missing something for the batteries right ?, what is it called and where can I get it or harvest it ?

I have put number beside the question so it can be easier to track the answer with each question

Thank you very much

1) I assume thats a 445 diode in there? Looks like one from DTR. You dont need the white wire just clip it and make sure it cant make contact anywhere. Its the case wire...Red and Black positive and neg.
2) The driver is an FMT and should be marked LD+ and LD- those are the the wires to the laser diode. The metal ring fits into the alu piece with 2 holes (pill) and enables a good earth connection to the host. It is pushed into it firmly.
3) The driver fits either into the pill, or on top of it. I havent yet used foulmists driver, so Im not sure of its dimensions, but by the looks of it, it is probably the latter. Remember if you are running the driver at high currents youll probably need to heat sink it. Do a search for hot option Jayrob or DTR they have devoted threads to explaining how to do it.
4) You can solder the black battery ie ground wire to the copper coloured metal ring.
5) Looks like you will have to make a positive contact board there are a few threads about that. The metal ring should slip over the contact board and be pressed into the pill.

I dont know how much room you have in that host, but youll probably be better off removing the back of the Aixiz housing ie the metal bit with one hole in it where the 3 wires are coming out. It unscrews from the module where the diode is housed, but be careful not to twist the wires.

I know this is a SL host, but its built up the same way as a C6, so you can also do a search for "assembling a C6", or "assembling a C6 pill", which will explain all of this. Good luck

OK I think I made my mind right except about the ground wire
What is the ground wire exactly ?, does it work like a negative wire ?

What I understand is, I use the copper colored ring under the aluminum piece so it touches the host, and then I weld the ground wire on the copper colored ringis that right ?

Thank you very much

I wouldn't say weld, thats a bit extreme, soldering is recommended :D

And as far as I know, leave the ground/case/white wire , just clip it like grainde said, and make sure it doesnt touch anything. then just solder the red wire from the driver that says LD+ to the red wire of the diode, and the same with the black one.

Sorry I used the term ground wire because you had used it! Lol You solder the black batttery contact wire from the driver to the ring. Look on the driver there are 4 wires 2 are the LD + and - outs and 2 are bat + and - in. Its the bat - in to the driver.ie neg bat wire Hope that makes sense.

The white wire is the case wire, which is neutral. Dont use it.

I think I somehow understand how its work now, I asked someone about the ground wire and he explained it to me, so I matched what he said of your replays and it was positive lol.

I will get my self a positive contact board from a flashlight or any other thing.

Thank you sooo much guys I appreciate your help.

I will keep you informed and I will post when I success, wish me luck :)
