So guys I need some help, I accidentaly made a mark on the TEC of my 2.5W USB laserbee using my 3W laser...I know it's stupid but it happened. Can anybody recoat and recalibrate it for a reasonable cost? :can:

Thanks in advance,
Jim

You waited 12 hours to say nobody? Idk if you've searched but there are very few people who will take this on. You could go weeks without finding someone to do it. One huge problem is not many people want to touch a LB product, jerry is almost your only hope but good luck at getting it for under $150

Yeah I know but Jerry has been offline for a very long time...even though I could sent him an email but they want 75$ for the calibration if I recall correctly! 75$ plus shipping costs both ways It will be about 110$ which is too much for me right now...
Maybe I'll sell it and build my own...

Thanks anyway,
Jim

Contact us

Call or E-mail him and explain your situation. If your outsourced repair makes it worse, he certainly won't fix it after that. Is like if you replaced your Dell computer's power supply with one from an Acer, and it fried your mobo. Dell would certainly not replace your motherboard after that.

Even large companies like Dell can make exceptions. I had a notebook whose drive failed a few months after the warranty on the system expired. I explained my situation, and the customer service representative was very understanding, and sent me a replacement drive at no cost to me! Obviously, their website states that out of warranty service costs $xxx.xx yadda yadda yadda.

I guess to sum it up in a commonly used idiom, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

On the other hand though, I am thinking instead of paying more than 100$ to fix my lpm why not buy the Radiant Electronics X4 which costs 100$ has an on board screen and reads up to 3.7W!

Only reason not to is if you are a LB fanboy but if we are being 100% serious, those don't exist

How bad is the mark? Does it effect readings? When you pass over the mark does the reading fluctuate?

Might want to contact alex. I know he has bought some that need work, fox them and add data logging to resell. Other than that, not much, especially since the radiant is so cheap
